a/n: this is my first time writing and posting so i apologize for any amateur mistakes! i hope my writing will only improve as time goes by. i also made the moodboard but the photos used are not mine! :)

the smell of roasted coffee beans and baked goods brought a small smile to your face. it had been a hectic week for you as being a university student meant work, work, and more work so you decided why not take a break by going to the new cafe. as you took in the beauty and simplicity of the shop when you first walked in, your eyes couldn’t help but land on the barista who happened to be your classmate…and crush. there stood the wonder of park jihoon with his kindness and beauty ready to take your order.

 “hi (y/n)!! how may i help you?” he asked you after sending a wink.

“jihoon?? i didn’t know you worked here.” you replied in shock while trying to cover the fact that your cheeks were most likely dusted with pink. who would have thought you would bump into your adorable crush working inside this gorgeous cafe.

“well i can’t always continue being a broke college student. constantly eating instant noodles does get tiring.” he replied with a grin.

“true, the college life is rough. i’ll take a caramel macchiato by the way” you smiled back and you felt your face burn it up [a/n sorry not sorry ;)]. that mischievous grin had quickened your heartbeat so much as you came to realize what exactly was the thumping noise you were suddenly all so aware of.

“okay coming right up! that’ll be $4.50.″ as you handed the money to him, his fingertips lightly grazed yours. electricity ran through your body and you had to stop yourself from shivering. 

you quickly retrieved your change and left the register to await for your drink. your face was hot and red at this point but i mean who’s face wouldn’t be after seeing their crush be ten times cuter than normal. seeing him in biology was so much different than seeing him on a beautiful saturday and you knew you were going to drop by here way more often than you had originally planned.

months had passed with you visiting the cafe on a weekly basis. during this time, you and jihoon had gotten so much closer. you two were now lab partners in bio with laughter and smiles making the class fly by. there was no fear of being yourself anymore but a new fear came to take its place. you tried your hardest to not think about it but there were always those moments. what would happen if he found out about your feelings that were only growing stronger and stronger? would they be mutual? 

“(y/n), here’s your caramel macchiato!” the other barista on shift interrupted your thoughts. you quickly got up to get your drink.

jihoon had disappeared to change since his shift was about to end and you were waiting for him to finish in hopes of hanging out afterwards. as you were about to take a sip, you noticed a message on the side of your cup. “i’ve been thinking about you a latte, want to go on a date?” a huge smile made its way onto your face and you soon saw jihoon walk towards you with rosy cheeks and a nervous smile. 

“of course!” you shouted in reply and that was all it took to form a beautiful relationship between you and him.
