why did you decide to start a studyblr? well i didn’t actually start a studyblr on purpose it just somehow  became one.

what is your favourite study spot? my desk in my room by the window <3

what is your go to study snack? i dont really have a particular snack, i usually just eat whatever i can find hahah but if i had to choose then i’d say chocolate maybe?

what is your ambition? to live a happy life filled with love and to make the life of the people around me better <3

what is your hogwarts house? apparently gryffindor lol

what is the saying you live by? Happiness and love over everything else ( bc what’s the point if you’re not happy right? heheh ) , Always tell someone how you feel about them while you have the chance.

what is the one song that manages to lift your mood? idk tbh hahah maybe disney songs or Kaze ni Naru

what is your one indulgence? doing whatever i feel like doing

what is your favourite thing about yourself? my hair i guess? xD

what is your favourite movie? i can’t choose just one disney/barbie movie DX

why do you study? to improve myself and to expand my knowledge about life

1.) Have you ever finished a WIP? If not, how far have you gotten?       When I was a little one, I could write for days and finish works left and right. Now, I get too lost in my own character development and change the plot too often. 

2.) When did you first start writing?       I have home videos of my mom setting me down in an empty kiddie pool as a 1 year old and writing nonsense - I can't remember a time I wasn’t entranced by writing. 

3.) What is the first story you remember writing?       It was about a lost puppy who ran away from home and got dirty. I made my mom go to the library to type it up and “publish” it. 

4.) What’s your favorite book?        Heavy question! Misery by Stephen King is my inspiration. I have to go with my man SK. 

5.) What inspires you to keep writing?       Reading, and reading good books. It’s a certain kind of feeling to read a sentence and feel the breath knocked out of you. I want to be that talented. 

6.) What is the cruelest thing you have done to one of your characters?       Killed her son. 

7.) What kind of music do you listen to while writing?       Stock rain music.  Something about the rain, man. 

8.) When during the day do you feel like you write best?       In the afternoon, when I’m tired and frustrated. It feels like ranting, but somehow more cathartic. 

9.) Do you plan on being a published author?       It’s always been a dream of mine. But I don’t know how well I would do with an editor rearranging things. Maybe someday!

10.) What is your favorite name that you named a character?          Stiletto. His personality fits so well. Could be a dangerous killing machine, could be a stylish shoe. 

11.) Do you find being surrounded by other writers inspiring?         God, yes! Fascinating and exciting and all those good adjectives.

I was tagged by the amazing @kristalstudies in July, but life’s been hectic so it’s just getting completed now. I apologize but thank you so much for tagging me.

1. one thing you wouldn’t be able to live without?

I would say books or a pen and paper. I love to read and write.

2. a subject at school that you despise/despised?

Research. The research class at my school is always a mess. In sixth grade we had a chair throwing teacher (I swear I’m serious.) In seventh grade no one knew what was going on and this year I’m not even sure.

3. if you’d have to give everyone one piece of advice, which one would it be?

Listen to musicals. Seriously, though they are AMAZING.

4. do you have a favourite colour and if so, which one is it?

I fluctuate depending on my mood. Right now I’m leaning towards pastel purple and aquamarine, maybe a deep red…??

5. someone who inspires you?

The director of the STEM program at my school is really nice and seems to actually care about us students as well as my seventh and eight grade Language Arts teachers. They’re awesome and I’ve learned a lot from them.

6. if given the chance, would you turn back time? why?

I don’t know. Maybe, but I feel like I would screw up the world.

7. do you collect something (like pins, stationery, cards, movie tickets)?

I am a stationary addict. I LIVE for stationary and pretty smells. And tea. And music.

8. one favourite song?

I can’t pick between my babies, but Blow Us All Away from the Hamilton OBCR just came on so…

9. one popular thing (movie, book, series, etc …) that you don’t like?

I never really understood the obsession with Pokémon Go or Logan/ Jake Paul + New Disney channel.

10. one thing you’d recommend to anyone?

Like seriously though, musicals are the best. They manage to make me smile in dark times. Books, too plus tea and music.

11. are you an introvert or extrovert?

I’m an introvert, however, if I’m comfortable with people I’ll get very loud and cringy

1. What is your favourite color?

- black🖤! But also any shade of pale purple

2. Where is your ideal vacation spot?

- home(?) or maybe a resort beside the beach with a pool & great view of the sunset!

3. Do you speak any languages beside your native one?

- Chinese, but I barely passed my exams

4. Ketchup or mayo?

- chilli, but if I had to choose: ketchup

5. What is your favourite season?

- winter! I’ve always wanted to see snow (Singapore is summer all year round afterall)

6. How tall are you?

- 5’3” / 160cm but my attitude is 6’1”

7. Are you a doodler?

- definitely! I sometimes can’t study because I start doodling everywhere

8. Least favourite subject in class, why?

- anything with MsS.O as the lecturer, she makes me want to cry

9. What is your trademark?

- appearance wise, my tattoos or my constantly oversized sweaters I guess, study notes? If there’s a doodle it’s mine.

- uh blue whales, yea they’re cool 🐋

- dusk without a doubt, there’s just something about seeing a sunset, the way the colours kisses the sky with a soft warmth that leaves us wanting more, never too much, but just enough for us to live to see it the next day 🌇

Tag 11 people (I don’t really know anyone so if you’re reading this and you want to answer my questions, consider yourself tagged -- I’d love to see your answers!)

And here are my answers:

1. Do you like background noise while you read?

Not really nope. I have a condition called hyperacusis and part of that is an inability to really filter sound -- I struggle to tune noise out, even when focused on something like reading. Gentle instrumental noise can be fine because I’m not processing two sets of words but anything with lyrics is too distracting.

2. Where’s your favourite place to read?

I don’t think I really have a favourite place to read. I used to love sitting by the Roman Baths or on campus at Bath Spa University when I was studying there, but now I’m happy wherever

3. Do you write in books?

Not often, but if I have a battered copy I sometimes like to underline passages I really love. I have written in a couple library books but it was because those two books were utterly awful and I had a lot of angst at the author/publisher.

4. Bookmarks or dog-ear the pages?

I only dog-ear library books (I know that’s awful, but I also love getting library books that have already been dog-eared and trying to figure out why) and battered old copies of my own books. I dog-ear the tops of pages to mark a page if I don’t have a bookmark handy, and the bottoms for interesting/noteworthy passages.

5. What’s your favourite genre?

I’m not sure I have one. There are genres I definitely avoid, but I go through phases of certain genres or moods (currently it’s children’s fantasy, but two weeks ago it was historical magical realism, and last month it was apocalyptic literary fiction). I do love children’s fiction, fantasy (I’m picky though), nature writing, poetry, historical fiction, anything with amnesia, autism, or deafness, travel writing, some YA, and fairytale retellings.

6. What’s the book you most want to read right now?

‘The Clocks in the House All Tell Different Times’ by Xan Brooks. There is nothing I've heard about this book that isn’t everything I want in a book right now.

7. Is there a book you couldn’t live without?

Northern Lights by Philip Pullman & the Bible (as paradoxical as those two might sound)

8. A book character you’d most like to meet?

Iorek Byrnison because Iorek Byrnison, and a grown-up Matilda because I think we’d be best friends.

9. Do you have a favourite author?

I have many! Philip Pullman, Eva Ibbotson, Eowyn Ivey, Gerrald Durrell, Mari Strachan, Li-Young Lee, Jeanann Verlee, and Neil Gaiman.

10. Have you read a book recently that you were disappointed with?

Yep. ‘Exit West’ by Mohsin Hamid & ‘A Jigsaw of Fire and Stars’ by Yaba Badoe were both especially disappointing.

11. Name your best book of the year so far.

I have two! ‘The Obelisk Gate’ by N. K. Jemisin & ‘The Unseen World’ by Liz Moore.

My 11 questions: 1. Whats one thing that can make you smile?

Honestly I’m generally quite a happy person so a lot of things make me smile? But if I had to choose it would either be my animals or seeing someone I love accomplishing something.

2. 3 bias from 2 of your favorite groups?

Namjoon and Taehyung from BTS and Jackson from Got7

3. What are your favorite girl bands?

2ne1 will forever be my number 1 girl group but girls generation and cosmic girls aswell☺️

4. If you had a chance to talk to one member from your favorite group what would you say?

Namjoon, “marry me”

5. Your favorite one shot or series and the admin who wrote it.

I honestly don’t read that much fanfic or imagines or anything but I’ve always been a fan of the work that Sugascript did when she was still active.

6. What do you do when you’re not on tumblr?

Umm quite a lot actually… I facetime with my bestie😂look for places to go that I can ride (forests, beaches etc etc) I teach myself how to do things and I even sing occasionally😂 (I’m not good but I try😭😭) 7. 3 admins that inspire you on tumblr.

8. If you could hang out with BTS or Got7 for one day who would you choose and why?

I’m going to have to say BTS, mainly because my ultimate bias is Namjoon (incase you can’t already tell😭😂) 9. What is your biggest fear?

10. What languages are you currently learning? And what languages do you want to learn?

Korean and spanish☺️ I want to learn Japanese aswell in the future

11. If you had a chance to read a book of your life would you read it?

I’d probably scan it through (for any sign of meeting my biases😂) but not read it past the present point in my life as I like surprises
