Located on Skolavorðustíg in central Reykjavik, 12 Tónar is part music label and part record store. Its two story shop is eclectic and friendly, where you’ll find practically every music genre under the moon as well as a comfy chair, a hot drink and a warm welcome. Take a seat in one of the mismatched armchairs, pop on a pair headphones (there are dozens scattered around the shop), listen and relax, while sipping on the “finest espresso” in Reykjavik.

Iceland a tag team collaboration combining cinematic ambient drone w/ glitchy experiments from circuit bent toys and old keyboards... ------------------------------- PRESS RELEASE: DREKKA performs cinematic ambient drone soundtracks reminiscent of early 80's UK industrial acts such as Coil or Psychic TV, or Icelandic experimental artists such as Stilluppsteypa or Curver. DREKKA is Michael Anderson, who visited Iceland for the first time in 1994, (for the 50th Independence Celebration) after having been interested in Iceland since first hearing KUKL as a teenager in the mid-80s. The first Drekka performance in Iceland was in March 2002, and 18 shows later Anderson celebrates 10 years of working with Icelandic artists with a two week trip/vacation to record two different albums. Helgi Mortal Kombat is a 24 year old Icelander from the suburbs of Reykjavik. He makes glitchy ambient drone from circuit bent toys and old keyboards. Helgi currently resides in Leipzig, DE, but is home for the holiday break and taking part in recording sessions for the new Drekka albums, 'Ekki gera fikniefnum,' and 'Regarding Certain Matters of Tone', to be released in mid-2013.
