Stay Safe • Wear Your Mask • Be Smart
Well, that's pretty specific
12.9
So this bodes well
But... Sam’s chest in that jumpsuit...
Me: *dies*
quick SPN thoughts...
Because I’m exhausted and really don’t have much brain to spare...
Mary: Hunter born, hunter trained, hunter coping mechanisms. You can’t escape who or what you are.
Sam: Mary, redux, with a dose of “I survived the Cage” coping mechanism and Soulless Sam body maintenance. He knows damn well Dean’s going to volunteer to go, and he’s not going to stop him, even though he wants to talk about it. “No, Dean, I wouldn’t.” It will hurt, but he won’t stop his brother if that’s what he chooses. But if Dean hesitates...I think Sam’s ok with being the one to go, too. It’s past time. Oh, Sam.
Dean: Tired. So. Fucking. Tired. But he needs to take care of Sam one last time. And see Cas and his mother (but it is Cas he calls, not Mary). And know that his family will be ok, before he gives himself over to Billie. And for all that, he still won’t kill if he doesn’t need to, not even in the pressure of PurgatoryDean survival mode. Weirdly, still the Righteous Man, for well or for ill.
Castiel: Too much heart, again. Breaking, healing, and resolute: he will not lose even a single Winchester. No matter the cost. I think...your dad would approve, Cas.
Billie: Still awesome, but so much story-potential left untapped. It’s almost as though they were afraid to use an incredibly-powerful female character.... That said, she was the gun, shown in the first act. She had to be used, one way or the other, or the the threat becomes a wet sardine (stinky, sloppy, and unimpressive on its own).
Overall story: a smidge on the nose, but reasonably satisfying. And I almost like Mick. Although if Mary isn’t playing him, I need someone to slap her. Because listening to “I can make it all better if you play nice with me” is what got them all INTO this mess in the first place....
