Bonus pic of me last night, after having curled my hair for the first time in… a very long time. I don’t usually do my hair, ever, and 99% of the time I’m wearing yoga pants. I often feel like a gross mess of a human. I’ll tell you, just the small act of making my hair look nice really improved my mood. I think I’m gonna carve out time to fix up my hair way more often, even if I don’t go anywhere. Beats feeling like a troll, eh?

Anyway: I curled my hair because I was going to my first local-mom-group-hosted book club meeting last night! I arrived a bit earlier than I was comfortable with, especially rolling in by myself to a gathering where I know no one, so I sat down the street in my car for 10 minutes so I could walk in casually right at 8pm, cookie tray in hand. Nothing to see here.

There were only four of us there, some folks planned to come and ended up not being able to, and it was so nice! We all stayed out in the backyard of the woman’s home who hosted, sat around the fire, and talked about the book a little bit, but mostly talked about our kids and lives and jobs and delivery stories, of course, because what else do a bunch of moms talk about, I guess?

I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the simple act of getting out of the house by myself and socializing with other like-minded people. At one point, one of the other moms started talking about her 300-year-old barn and the stables on her property, but I quickly forgave her because she was so friendly and kind. 😉 Looking forward to doing this more often with them!

NIPT update: there is no update. Still. They said 5 (business, I assume) days for the genetic results, so I’m HOPING my phone rings today. I have zero chill. Give me the info!!
