Gosh, can you believe it’s almost November? After 2020, which seemed to last approximately 8,257 days, this year seems to have flown by! But the dwindling days on the calendar have got us thinking about year’s end and how to wrap things up on a high note.
And, it turns out we had so much fun with Caffrey-Burke Day, we want to try another fandom event. After all, we’re pretty sure others had fun, too, we all got some fantastic content out of the deal, and we even had creators who’d never made anything for the fandom before. And since it seems like that might be the very definition of “More White Collar,” (the very reason for our being), we definitely want to try again.
As we mentioned before, we do have plans for a Mozzie-centric celebration in February, but that seems like a long time away. But you know what isn’t very far away? December. And though there are already lots of fun activities in December, and lots of reasons to celebrate, we think you can’t ever go wrong celebrating White Collar. Besides, the month has some WC milestones.
December 18th will be the seventh anniversary of the series finale—maybe not exactly a reason to celebrate, but an important date just the same. And in-universe, December 7th is the date Peter first arrested Neal. (Please do not ask us to explain why everyone in that storage unit appeared to be dressed for a fine spring day.) That’s a couple of different dates that will live in infamy.
And, while the show gave us so many wonderful moments, what we never got was a holiday episode. That’s obviously something of a travesty.
All of which leads us here, as we announce our latest event, 12 Days of White Collar, a month-long creative celebration of our favorite show.
It works like this: We provide the prompts, you provide . . . well, whatever you want to provide. As before, we’re interested in all manner of creativity, so feel free to write a story, draw a picture, make a video, put together a photo manip, animate a gif set, compose a verse, illustrate a graphic novel. . . anything you can think of.
Honestly, the whole thing is pretty laid back. Tackle the prompts in any order you wish. Use the quote prompt or any of the three sub-prompts, or go all out and combine them all. Choose one, or all twelve. Heck, use all four individual prompts from all twelve days and give us forty-eight separate creations—we’d love you forever!
Your creation can focus on the holidays, or not. Give us a glimpse of what happened to the WC crew after the finale, or maybe before the arrest. Make it light and fluffy or full of existential angst. Honestly, we’re not picky; we welcome any and all creative formats that showcase the White Collar world.
Once you’ve completed your lovely creation, post it anytime during the month of December, in all the same places you’d normally share your work. We’ll have a collection on AO3 for those of you who post there (unrevealed until December 1, but you can add to it at any time), and wherever you post, please @ us and use #12DaysOfWhiteCollar. That way we'll be sure to see everything.
TLDR:
1. Pick your prompt(s)
2. Create something about White Collar based on the prompt(s)
3. Post the creation to all your favorite channels
4. Make sure we can find it with the # and @
5. Have fun!
