It's a brand new year

Happy 2026, everyone!

I've been in kind of a self-imposed exile most of this year, but I've realized that's really not been a whole lot of fun. So, while I'm not necessarily a big believer in official resolutions, I am making a committment to myself to at least try to ease back into some fandom life this year, and let myself enjoy the ride.

So, since OMWC has been pretty lax in participation and event hosting of late — not even a holiday event!🤦—it seemed only fair to start this new year off with a little something, so we're back with a few January prompts for a White Collar New Year, for any of you that are still following along.

It's pretty simple--pick a star, get a prompt, create something based on that prompt. Whether it's a fic, a piece of visual art, a random haiku—we're not picky. Just something about White Collar that uses the prompt in some way.

And yes, a good number of the prompts centered around the New Year holiday, so forgive us in advance for already making us all late to the party, but we figure the entire month is really fair game for celebrating the new calendar page.

Or, (c) dating some man we haven’t met yet until they happen to run into Sara one day, and then we get a bit of angst as Neal admits to himself he still has feelings for her but doesn’t want to hurt his new love, and Sara angst as she pines for what she can’t (yet) have. Then they’ll finally find their way back together just in time for season two. Bonus points for planning the wedding by S3.

Mozzie Mania 5!

Even though we're still in the final days of #WhiteCollarNewYear (have you finished your entry yet, btw?), it's also time to start looking forward to next month and the return of one of our favorite days of the year—Mozzie Mania!

Mozzie is such a great character, and Willie Garson was an amazing guy, so we started a tradition of celebrating Moz on Willie's birthday each year, February 20th. The event is intended to encourage fan creations all about Mozzie, and this year's theme will be It's Mozzie's World; We're All Just Living In It. As always, the event is open to any kind of fan work, and we're always excited to see whatever you come up with. The one and only rule is that Mozzie has to be the center of whatever you create.

Of course, there'll be an AO3 collection, and we hope you'll share your work there (don't forget, it's not just for fic; you can post all sorts of fan works on the site), but when you share to your own socials, please be sure to @ us and use the event hashtags.

And lastly, because this event is really all about honoring Willie, we always like to take the opportunity to help out an organization that was near and dear to his heart, You Gotta Believe, a group that's trying to make sure older kids in the foster system find their forever family. We'll be making a small donation for each Mozzie Mania entry, but we also hope you'll be able to throw a dollar or two their way, as well; anything you can afford really will help.

So we hope you'll all get to creating, because we can't wait to see what all is going on in Mozzie's world!
