Loveless Calm

Loveless meditation sessions are like this. When the craving for an increasingly tangible God loses steam one gets a meditation session like this one. The surrender is incomplete. There is an unwillingness to begin with, and then it lasts for 28 minutes.

It was nearly midnight when I began. The surrendering process did begin. It was left incomplete and then I was distracted in a big way. No, one doesn’t lose one’s calmness in these situations. One doesn’t grow. And that is a realisation that frustrates.

I know now, in the morning after, that I did not surrender to the breath-chant. I could not because I had spent the entire day drawn outward. My eyes kept reading and my mind kept seeking more to read. Also, it was a busy day with unusual activity. I had to be drawn out and paying extra attention to an ever changing scenario. This doesn’t help my concentration when I meditate at bedtime.

One can’t afford to be so caught up with activities that one forgets the aim of all activities. To get closer to His Divineness -Mr Being ! No intimacy is guaranteed without wanting It.
