Life update

I can’t believe Lillian turns FOUR tomorrow. Where have the years gone? (Out the window). She’s the sassiest, spunkiest, happiest girl I know. She’s so incredibly smart that she’s in the kindergarten classroom at day school. They were saying six months ago they’d have her in there if age weren’t a factor but now she’s closer to Kindergarten age. My baby will be starting school next year!

Hazel is almost walking; she can do it just doesn’t have the confidence built up yet. We are seeing Early Intervention for speech and adaptive (eating) since the cleft palate has her a little behind. But in the past month since her surgery her vocal skills have improved IMMENSELY all on her own. She can say variations of “ma” and yells for me constantly lol. We’ll get her on track in no time!

So now I’m in the second trimester with my little man! It’s still so weird saying I’m having a BOY. Honestly was expecting to see that we were having another girl. I’m starting to feel some flutters and I’m not as tired anymore (thank GOD). I had a dream this morning that I was snuggling his cute little self and I can’t wait!

I’m only up 3lbs, we’re hopping back on to the Whole30 wagon so I’m not expecting to gain too much this time around. I’m still gonna cave to my cravings and have oats and stuff well because pregnancy and I need all of the energy I can get. After Ronin is born I plan on getting a personal trainer and getting back into shape. I’m tired of being fat.

Just haven’t felt like writing these posts recently, don’t know why.

We did end up telling our families a couple weeks ago, and it went over well. I had my son walk out to my sister in a “best brother ever” tshirt that we’d had handed down to us with some other clothes a while back, holding the most recent ultrasound pics. She figured out what was going on instantly before even reading the shirt and said, “I thought so! Yay!” Which made me think like WOW, how bad have I been at hiding this?/do I look super pregnant? But when I asked how she knew she said she’d just been thinking recently that enough time had passed, it would be unsurprising to get an announcement any time. She hadn’t actually known or specifically suspected because of anything I did.

We then all video called my parents, trying to make the tshirt obvious, but it took a while for them to catch on and even once they read it my mom was like, “Wait, are you trying to tell us something?” Which is funny since there was past precedent for this type of announcement and that first time she had caught on right away...we told them about my son with a “world’s best grandpa” mug.

I’m officially in the 2nd trimester now and definitely feeling less nauseous and such overall, but I’m also on day 8 and counting of a nasty cold so I’m kind of feeling that more than the pregnancy recently. I don’t have another midwife appointment for a couple more weeks and I sort of wish it was sooner. I felt my son move at around 13.5 weeks and now I’m at 14w1d and nothing so far, and it’s making me nervous because I thought you were supposed to feel it sooner in subsequent pregnancies. Yes, I know I felt it unusually early with my son and yes, I know that when you feel it can depend on variables like the position of the placenta, etc., and I have no reason/symptoms to think anything is wrong per se, but I’d still appreciate the reassurance of being checked out now as opposed to in 2 weeks.

We’re still waiting on the results of my husband’s genetic testing. He got his blood draw at my 12 week appointment but it seems like they didn’t actually send it into the company for like a week after that for some reason (with mine, we got notified by the company that they had my sample 2 days after the blood draw).

12/5/2015 Told the boss today about the impending baby. Turns out, as I suspected, when he and his wife had twins last year it was IVF. So he should be sympathetic to the series of appointments I'm going to be missing work for...
