1. Are you named after anyone?
No. Mom read my name in a book while she was pregnant with me and loved it. The writer J.M. Barrie invented my name, and I’ve always like it; thanks, Mr. Barrie!
“The meaning of the name Wendy (“fair-skinned, blessed”) dates before Barrie and likely comes from a pet name for Gwendolyn. These elements come from the Gaelic words “gwyn” (holy, white) and “dolen” (ring). Gwendolyn is a popular Welsh name.”
Isn’t that a blessing? My father’s name means “a steep hill,” so it could have been much worse!!
2. When was the last time you cried?
Just this past weekend. A lot.
3. Do you have/want kids?
As I said, I have two wonderful grown daughters who have become good friends. It’s funny: I talk to them more now they are far away than when we were closer! We Facetime constantly, call each other at least once a day, and they tell me their troubles and seek my support. I’m honored.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?’
I have a sweatshirt that says: “Me? Sarcastic? Never!” So I guess that answers that question. I adore dry, sardonic humor. I despise deliberate cruelty. Big difference.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
If they are physically in my presence, I guess I get a “sense” of their sincerity. Their tone of voice, their mannerisms, they’re courtesy. I don’t tolerate rudeness, or condescension.
Online, however, it’s really hard to tell, and sometimes that’s scary. You can fall victim to manipulative people who play you. Or those who end up “gaslighting” you.
There’s a great book by Robert Fulgum called “Everything I Need to Know I learned in Kindergarten.” This world would be a kinder, more accepting place if we all remembered that.
6. What’s your eye colour?
Blue. And my DNA Profile on Ancestry showed me a perfect pic of them - small brown spot and everything! Get your profile done; it’s so fascinating!!
7. Scary movie or happy ending?
LOL! It’s so much fun to write scary, violent stuff! I like action movies, but with all the political shit going on in the world, don’t we ALL need happy endings??
Can’t draw worth a damn, but I can knit, design and make clothes, and I can write, and turns out I’m rather good at it. My mother keeps saying, “Well, what the hell took you so long?”
Nowhere exotic, sorry. A small town in the middle of Pennsylvania, USA which was started in the mid-1800′s by a bunch of Catholic Priests. I grew up next to a Benedictine Convent, and love, love, love to go back and visit. I’m proud of my German Catholic heritage!!
10. What are your hobbies?
Reading. Writing. Knitting. British TV shows. Genealogy. Researching the countries my ancestors came from. Studying history - I have two ancestors who came over on the Mayflower. Trying to learn Spanish, but after four years, all I can manage is: “¿Donde está el baño por favor?” (”Where is the bathroom, please?”)
11. Do you have any pets?
Yes! A cute, spoiled God/Dog named Bailey!
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
Well, since I love Monopoly, and Trivia games, and since I always win, I’ve decided they are sports. So yes, I am active...

14. Favourite subject in school?
English! I was reading at 7th grade level when I was in 1st grade.
Was always getting A’s in spelling and creative writing. Won a contest in spelling in the Third Grade, and a story I wrote about why Geese always fly in a “V” formation won a blue ribbon in MIss Facchine’s 4th grade class.
A famous, mysterious, reclusive novelist, who acts like Miss Havisham, who won’t answer the door, and has a gorgeous pool boy named Sven...
