Today's bike ride was, let's just say "different". They have the only bridge for pedestrians/bikes to cross out of town blocked off for the fireworks people setting up tonight. So I was stuck in town going in loops and finding sidewalks and paths to ride where I could get up to speed like the RiverTrail. Instead I found a mix of thin broken down grass covered chaotic sidewalks, wierd neighborhood ones with sharp right and left angles to get to the crossing, some bike/walk paths covered in gravel and dirt, and over all it was a less productive ride then I hoped. I also had to deal with a lot of intersections and traffic crossing at intersections. My normal ride is literally like 100' on the road to the neighborhood, through that straight to the sidewalk and its all sidewalks and easy intersections then a 7ish mile only people ride you can get up to speed on. You can see the map above, I was all over the place. First I tried to find a path out of town to the other side, dead ended. Then Ijust road in a circle like 3-4 times, sometimes finding alternative ways trying to make it longer and so I could burn more calories. My town needs to work on their paths and sidewalks, they are a mess. Oh and my ride from yest is still marked as Not Safe for W. irritating. Now to quick shower and head to the folks for the 4th w family. Honestly not really looking forward to it. Too many people, too much chaos. I only like swimming and the neighbors fireworks. And I want to come home because it was all mentally taxing. I'd rather just stay home but I can't, esp this year a my bro will be in SC next year. TOmorrow the bridge is back open, yea, and back to a normal ride!
And another 16 miles of biking down. It's warm but it's really nice, not too windy lots of people out enjoying themselves a lot to people in hammocks and that kind of thing, families etc. good bike riding day.
Another 16 miles down. Ride there was easy, wind against my back, I almost didn't have to pedal sometimes. Way home, wind blasted me like I was a kite, I had to push hard to maintain speed even with the bike's help. Nailed it.
Another, yes, another 16 miles down today in this gorgeous but windy day here in Tulsa. The way down was easy, wind hitting me from the side and sometimes the back but way back, windy at side and front so it was some work. Supposed to get colder tomorrow and even colder Saturday so I'm glad I got my rides in. I havent ridden this much since before I broke my leg. MAN it feels GOOD to get out there and ride! I also recorded with my GoPro so I can relive the ride and look at my telemetry. That will only take me 6 hours to compile since I have to open each chunk in Quik, make it a clip, save that clip, repeat. Then open all the chunks in Studio, put them in order and export which takes hours. GoPro you need to get this 2 app thing combined, it's rediculous. But, beyond that... duh duh duh, another 16 bites the dust!
