"You suppose? Suppose what?" - Zelda (Skyward Sword)
showing myself grace for experiencing introvert burnout after i was out for eighteen hours on monday, about sixteen and a half of which were spent in the constant company of two people from work, about five of those involving intense interviews during which close attention needed to be paid to every detail, then being extremely busy at the office on tuesday, which included a four and a half hour deposition during which i again had to pay close attention to every person who was speaking.
nothing about any of this went wrong in any way, i was just so tired that by the end of the day yesterday all i wanted to do was go be alone in the woods and scream a bit.
i did go to the woods, but i went to a popular fire tower where i knew i wouldn't be alone because it was a very clear evevning and i wanted to take a video of the sunset. it was good to be in the woods, though.
and funny enough, while at the fire tower i met a nice stranger who knows some of my favorite hiking locations and we talked about hiking on the way back to the parking lot. she understood the concept of introvert burnout. i'd gone up there thinking i would surely commit violence if i had to speak to another human being that day and came back feeling like the conversation had healed me. the irony did strike me at the time and amuse me greatly.
i was able to stay home today so i went hiking first thing in the morning and this time i was indeed alone in the woods and that was also very helpful. i am recovering.
turns out that your genes run deeper than i thought within me...doing more and well at work makes me feel so whole
I am such an enneagram 3w2
