Do you have a description of Hell World?
Have any Space Marines lived long enough to build anything? Is it a barren wasteland? Are there poison oceans? Maybe different biomes for the chaos gods? Mountains? Forests?
What Xenos?

TY FOR THE INTEREST AND INTERESTING QUESTIONS!!!
I’m still actively building it, but did put it to the side to focus on Maia’s homeworld. I’ll share what my thought process has been so far!;
˗ˏˋ ★┆OVERVIEW ˎˊ˗
★The planet itself shows up on system scans, but cannot be scanned itself. It always comes back as an error. One might be able to see landmasses, oceans, peaks, dunes, etc, from orbit, but once in the atmosphere, it’s impossible to make heads or tails of anything. I really wanted it to give off that “shiny beacon in a warp storm” effect. The only consistency is the feature of a distress beacon that seems to cater to the specifics of the receiver (So, for Massccio’s story, the distress beacon of a Blood Angel cruiser he was familiar with.).
The surface of the planet suffers a lot of the warp bleeding, too. Entering the arch of a ruin might have you staring at the inside of a pristine apothecarion! Exploring a ship’s ruins might have you actually going through the ship — or maybe you’re suddenly in a jungle world! Stuff like that. Not everything is an illusion, but a few things are. Days turn to years, centuries are seconds, it’s unpredictable.
Stumbling upon the system, and thus the world, is entirely up to the warp. We know it’s finicky to sail through, but there’s a nano percentage that the warp decides you should get dropped off into the system and tempted by Hell World.

yes! Whether they’re still there or not is another matter. In Masaccio’s story, he comes across the remains of a heresy-era Raven Guard cruiser that was turned into a FOB. Inside, there’s a dying Raven Guard that describes a tyranid to him, which Masaccio is familiar with, but the Raven Guard is not. To the RG, it’s only been days after the Dropsite Massacre. Mas also sees symbols of the World Eaters, Black Legion, and Iron Hands on his little hike to the Raven Guard. Plaaaany of guys have been thru here before.
I think, as SM and CSM are a hardy type, there are definitely instances where they’ve managed to stay alive for a while before eventually succumbing to something (themselves? Xenos? chaos?). And, as it’s all warp fuckery, they could’ve just landed!

technically, Yes to all of these. There are parts of the planet that appear warp stable, but that means they’re usually crawling with any numbers of nasties that also realised this is the One place things aren’t entirely fucky.
The only “True Stable” thing on this planet remains within the core on the “North Pole”, where the distress beacon is coming from. It has layers of structures on top of it, creating a four-pronged spire pointing toward the sky. With the beacon being beneath the earth, one would have to travel through additional structures beneath the surface to get there.
I was inspired to make this planet loosely based on PVP maps and dungeon crawlers. The idea that you can start a new match with the same character on, what appears to be, a brand new planet/area in a short span has always tickled me.
