Battle Action dated 17 February 1979. Cover art by Ian Kennedy who also drew the interior True-Life Heroes story featuring the Catalina flying boat.
Atmospheric Johnny Red artwork by John Cooper from inside. Love the way he has drawn the shadows on the nose of the B-25 Mitchell.
Treasury of British Comics.
The Beatles during rehearsals for Thank Your Lucky Stars at Teddington Studio Center, Teddington on 17th February 1963.
Warlord and Bullet No. 230, dated 17 February 1979. 3 Men in a Jeep cover by Jeff Bevan. A sure sign they were phasing out the Bullet name was the way in which it was written in a smaller font each week. DC Thomson.
A 1979 ad for 2000AD and Starlord "100th Number" or prog 100 to most readers. It was cover dated 17 February 1979.
The Judge Dredd art by Mike McMahon was the classic image from the cover of prog 61. It was being split up into a poster over the next 4 issues. Not sure if Mike redrew the art for the poster or not.
Rebellion.
The Crunch No. 6, dated 24 February 1979. Arena cover art by Enrique Alcatena which came from an interior panel.
Below is an ad for the issue that ran in other DC Thomson titles.
DC Thomson.
The Crunch No. 5, dated 17 February 1979. The Mantracker cover by Alberto Salinas was a reused image from the strip's splash page in The Crunch No. 1. Note the cigarette was removed from the character's mouth. There seemed to be increased regulation on characters smoking in late 70's comics (with the best known example being Robo-Hunter in 2000AD and the subsequent creation of his robot cigar).
