Ever since I was young, I enjoyed art. I played violin which my parents convinced me was a form of art but I was not convinced (I am now). I wanted to draw, wanted to paint, wanted to sculpt...but it was not meant to be. I was so disappointed that I didn’t have traditional skills that my young and narrow mind thought an artist must have. As I got older, I realized that many many things are art. A delicately coded website, retail design, classical violin, lighting design for a metal show, a beautifully crafted cocktail...the list goes on. I now take joy in being able to create a beautiful retail space, a label for a bottle of bitters, and them come home, pet the pups, and play myself a little Vivaldi before dinner while Kristin crafts and designs artistic and delicious cocktails, meals, paintings, our home...and I smile and am content in the fact that we are both artists, we are all artists and how wonderful that there are so many ways to express ourselves.
