Just took this photo of my actual TV screen during a rewatch because it's one of my favorite moments in 1899, and it ended up looking very Alien universe adjacent.

The placement of the people on the spaceship is interesting. What does it mean?!
Why do Mrs Wilson, Eyk, Maura and Krester share a panel? Why is Krester (and Tove too technically) so far away from his "parents"? Are the people who are related in the simulation actually related? If the other empty spot belongs to Maura's brother why is he sharing a panel with the French connection??
What does it mean?
I think the 8th episode is the best and the worst.
The best because Eyk and Maura are so close together. Finally. (I love this scene). [Yeah sorry about the possible spoilers but I can’t help sharing this particular scene.]
The worst because, obviously anyone who saw it knows why and I am not going to spoil it for anyone who wants to watch it (as few readers as I have). Made worst by the loveliest scene just before it.
And, still don’t want to spoil for anyone who didn’t see it yet, but I kind of like the end. It’s not resolving anything but at least we learn something, and especially Maura learn something important and it’s another relief.
Anyway that’s just me (silver lining and everything).
And of course I absolutely cannot watch this scene without crying 😭
If I counted and understood the architecture of the spaceship correctly, it has altogether 240 rooms just like the one Maura "wakes up" in. That room can hold 16 people. So if all those rooms are the same on the inside, there's space for at least 3840 people on that spaceship.
I have no clue what to do with that information. But here it is
Oh. When Maura wakes up on the spaceship, she has the triangle tattoo behind her ear just like Eliott. Didn't notice that before!
I'm rewatching 1899 for answers, but of course I'm just left with more questions!!!
- Does Daniel actually kill Ada? If so, why???
- Why do the people on the ship die after that? It doesn't look like Daniel has anything to do with their deaths
It's interesting that Maura freely talks about the child she lost, but neither she nor anyone else ever seems to wonder about her husband.
Because in that time a woman of her class and means would not have gotten pregnant outside of wedlock. So it would make sense for people to assume that she must have a husband somewhere. Still, nobody brings that up and she doesn't seem to even consider it either.
