1703. Aprilis. - den 17ten Prag bey Warschau - den 18ten Ehe aber solches geschahe, brach der König mit dem Haupt-Quartier, und der Printz mit Denenselben von Okoinow auf, und legte sich in Prag gleich gegen Warschau über, welches nur durch die Weichsel von diesem unterschieden ist, und dahero auch die Vorstadt von Warschau genennet wird, mit welchem man damahls vermittelst der erbauten Brücke Communication hatte. Der König ware hier kaum angekommen, so meldeten sich der Kayserlich- Englisch- und Holländische Gesandten, welche schon längsten auf dessen Ankunfft gewartet, bey Ihme um die Audience an, die Sie auch bald erhielten, Sie drungen insgesambt auf ein Accommodement, waren aber so glücklich nicht, daß Sie in ihrem Gesuch reussirten, mußten dahero ohne sonderliche Hoffnung wieder nach Warschau umkehren. Und weilen Ihro Majestät Kundschafft gekriegt, daß die Sachsen 4. Meilen von da nehmlich bey Pultosk sich gesetzet, und ihr Quartier und Vorposten an dem Bugstrom hätten, so kame Sie die Lust an, mit gar wenigen nebst dem Printzen einen Ritt dahin zu thun, und zu recognosciren, kamen aber bald wieder zurück, ohne daß etwas passirt wäre, doch giengen Sie nach zweien Tagen nur mit 4. Persohnen, darunter der Printz war, bis an den Bug, wo Sie die Sachsen in ihrem Stand-Quartier übersehen konten, traffen unter wegs auf einen Sächsischen Corporal mit einigen Dragonern, der sich aber, so bald er ihrer ansichtig worden, in einem Boot retirirt, und echappirt, doch wurden 2. von ihnen gefangen, ein jeder mit 10. Thalern beschenckt, und ins Haupt-Quartier gebracht. Inzwischen kame auch ein Preusischer Gesandter unter dem Caracter eines Volonteurs an, welcher in der Stille auch besonders negotiren sollte, aber eben so wenig reussirte, als der Pohlnische Edelmann, der eben auch um selbige Zeit mit neuen Friedens-Vorschlägen, welche Herr Prælat Osiander in seinem Durchmarsch zu Marienburg bey dem König Augusto auswürckte, zu Prag anlangte, als welche damahlen unbeantwortet blieben.

And since His Majesty received espial, that the Saxons settled down 4. miles from there namely at Pultosk, and had their quarters and forward posts at the Bug stream, He was taken by the lust to do a ride there with just a few next to the Prince and to reconnoitre, however soon returned, without anything having happened, but He went after two days with only 4. persons, among which the Prince was, up until the Bug, where they could survey the Saxons in their fixed quarters, encountered on the way a Saxon Corporal with a couple of dragoons, who however as soon as he caught sight of them retreated in a boat and escaped, but 2. of them were caught, each one gifted 10. Thalers and brought to the headquarters. Meanwhile a Prussian envoy also arrived under the character of a volunteer, who in secret was meant to do special negotiations, but attained just as little as the Polish noble who arrived at the same time in Prag with new peace proposals, which Prælat Osiander had obtained during his march-through in Marienburg with King Augusto since those remained unanswered at the time.
