Ok. We've heard of Horsegirl (Chicago, Illinois), and I guess we fought the hype. But the hype won.
How can you not love a teenage band that sounds this good? Growing up in Chicago, Horsegirl must have been influenced by The Ponys, but it's also clear that they listened to Yo La Tengo, Polvo, or any number of other 1990s noise bands - Dust Devils or AC Temple?
Matador Records is releasing this. Tim Sendra (AllMusic) went further back than even I would - he mentions 18th Dye and Seam as touchstones.
