Apologies. I have been attempting to post a record recording of another cut from this album, Belinda Backwards, from A.C. Temple. For whatever the reason it cannot be shared as a video. You can go to it here. How awesome that there is concert footage from the around the time - I am seeing some of these for the first time.
A.C.Temple - not a popular group here in the states and that’s a little sad. I heard them on college radio in Boston (total side note - there was no other station that seemed like this radio station WZBC where during the day they’d play diverse selections and at night ambient experimental music on ‘No Commercial Potential’) and immediately fell in love. The announcer mentioned that the album was produced by Kramer - better known at the time as the owner of Shimmy Disc Records and co-member of Bongwater.
The album is a bit of a departure from their post punk early days and alt rock subsequent albums. It’s ... neo 60s alt folk rock ... ish. With Kramer producing it does make sense that they firmed up into this ‘sounds vintage’ sound. A bit of regret, a pinch of nostalgia and sentiment, a touch of hope - it’s a beautiful album and the one of theirs I kept in my permanent collection.
