That one time on ddu (I think) where one of the hosts said he probably has a bf he doesnt need a gf wasnt directed towards wyb right but his reactions was a little strange. Thats also the time were he said he would say “are you crazy” in a lovers quarrel. Theres multiple videos of wyb saying “are you crazy” to xz. This is getting wild!

Hi, anon! Yes, that phrase wasn’t directed to dd, but his reactions just made it strange, so it was cut off the episode. Here is the link for the post in case you haven’t seen it yet! There are many theories for his reactions in that episode, but it’s true that no one can know what he was thinking that day but him.

The “are you insane/sick?” is actually one of the things that shows how comfortable they are with each other. Depending on the tone, of course, but it can be seriously offensive if said with a different tone! I can’t think of a good English example, but for Spanish speakers I have a good one: “jódete” (f*ck you), which can be playful banter.

This is not the kind of things you say to a simple coworker. There must be a minimum level of trust and camaraderie, so you know you’re not offending the other party.

Disclaimer: everything is false, fake, whatever you want to call it.

I can think of 2 instances where dd said that to gg, and both are golden:

1. When gg is “surprised” by dd leaving a light or the tv on when he sleeps, and teases him “what if the volume jumps at to 60 suddenly? or if the tv channel changes just when you look at it?”, and dd is like shut up, please.

(Another explanation for this, if gg isn’t lying and he is really surprised by dd leaving a light on to sleep, is that dd has said before in TTXS that he can sleep in the dark... if there’s someone else sleeping with him, and in which case he likes to keep contact with that person).

2. In the middle of their interview on 190729, with all the cameras clicking and filming, dd says that again. Gg is “shocked” and points to the cameras, which in turn makes dd apologize and put a hand on his arm. What I like the most about this one is that later, in the hallway, dd apologizes again:

“Da lao (大佬, “boss”), I said something wrong earlier”

Gg just says “hm?” and approaches. Dd explains.

“Ah, well, at least it wasn’t that” (what is “that”? we don’t know)

So here “da lao” is a candy that also connects to that game they played in the Nanjing fan meeting, where dd’s team was choosing someone from the other team to play “a sexy boss”, and dd chose WZC because he knew that gg had a sore throat and wanted him to rest.
