we’ll just keep on driving.
“It’s motivational too. Living with another creative person who can inspire you on a daily basis. Thinking back to art school... what you actually learn in classes is nothing compared to what you learn from being around other creative people. It makes you want to create more.” --- Nicholas Des Jardins, @1985artists #ISSUE17.
“As he spoke about Pasolini's death and the crime involved, Abel's own story came through, and the film transformed into a portrait of both directors’ lives and work. I often feel like I’m embedding myself into fellow collaborators’ bodies of work when I start working with them, and I do fall in love with them at certain points throughout the process. Its inevitable since its something you care so much about, but it’s a romance that has more to do with creating a love letter to the medium.”
--- Aida Ruilova on her film Head & Hands : My Black Angel,@1985artists #ISSUE17

Artists & Performers & all types of creative personalities come across our radar regularly at 1985artists , & often it takes time to find the right moment to sing their praises. When it comes to keeping our finger on the pulse of the underground, & monitoring the progress of up & coming artists, we like to think we leave no stone unturned. In the case of the mainstream media, we'd prefer to champion our subjects not with a trend or buzzword, but with the outstanding quality (& sheer quantity) of their work, which at times seems to defy logic in its full expanse. So please, let's not refer to the following Artists herein as anything other than what they are :
These are artists, who just so happen to be under the age of 25 ---exceptional creators with extraordinary voices. Don't call them the M-word. Don't call them "the Next Generation." Just listen up.
