I would have to say any of your sweet Brettsey fluff. Those helped me so much when Casey left. I love all of your writings and as soon as I can get some free time I’m excited to catch-up on all of them.
Ah Raq you are an absolute sweetheart!!! I have plans for another brettsey full length fic once Ms Swift releases a certain album as Taylor’s Version, and I cannot WAIT to share that with everyone,
Hartbig. AU. SFF. SFWish?. 1,856 words. (Roughly) based off of Taylor Swift’s album 1989. Sorry about my lack of posting, I’m going to try to get back on my schedule. (I didn’t proof read this so sorry in advance about any errors.)
Around 5:15pm, just a little while after Tyler’s suggestion to go clubbing, Naomi had come home with leftovers from the lunch they served at her meeting. It was a big tray full of little party sandwiches that Tyler immediately started eating.
They all ended up eating the sandwiches for dinner while Tyler caught Naomi up to date with his romance with Troye.
Afterwards, Hannah invited Naomi to come clubbing with them but she declined the invitation because she was tired from her meeting earlier today. So Hannah and Tyler went into Hannah’s bedroom to change into some more appropriate clothes.
Tyler found one of his button down shirts that somehow ended up in Hannah’s wardrobe that’s light red with little pineapples all over it that he decided to wear with his black jeans and black shoes he wore over to Hannah’s house.
Hannah chose a long sleeved, dark red button down shirt with a black vest over it and found some black pants and shoes to match Tyler.
…
Walking into the club, Tyler whispers in Hannah’s ear, “Remember, this is about you shaking your mind off of your situation and if possible hooking up with someone. If you see a girl, just let me know, I’ll go talk you up to her.”
Opening the final door standing between them and their destination, the music floods Hannah’s ears, drowning anything else out. As her eyes adjust to the dark room, she looks around to see if there’s anyone she’d be interested in.
She can distinctly see who the twenty one year olds are by the amounts of birthday sashes and tiaras. Another give away is how drunk and confused they look. On the dance floor she sees a lot of people who are dancing to a beat that they are not doing a good job of following.
Tyler taps her shoulder, pointing to one end of the bar. She nods and follows him. Hannah herself, has promised herself not to drink considering the events of last night and her goal of not getting and liver issues. However, Tyler hasn’t gotten pass out drunk in the last twenty four hours, so he’s ordering a margarita.
Hannah hops up on a bar stool and looks to her right, towards the dance floor and looks for any girls that are dancing alone that she’s attracted to.
There’s this blonde girl that looks really hot and her hair color reminds her a lot of- nope, she can’t come into Hannah’s mind tonight. The whole point is to forget her.
She barely hears Tyler’s voice over the booming music, but it’s enough to know he said something, so she looks over and follows his finger to another girl on the dance floor that’s alone. She has shoulder length black hair and is wearing a really tight red dress that would normally send Hannah brain spinning, but tonight it’s just not happening. And this is definitely a girl that Hannah would go for.
She shakes her head and they both go back to looking around. As she’s looking around, she decides that it wouldn’t be a good idea to try to hook up with anyone with blonde hair because that could lead to her imagination getting the best of her.
Tyler leans into Hannah and yells over the music, “Don’t look now but there’s this girl who definitely keeps glancing over here and looking you up and down.”
Hannah nods and shouts back, “What am I looking for?”
“Brown hair, green dress, approximately at eleven o’clock.”
Hannah nods again and casually glances to her right before slowing shifting her gaze to the left. As soon as Hannah sees a brown haired girl in a green dress, she knows this is the one Tyler was talking about. This girl is staring her down with bedroom eyes.
The seduction in this girl’s look is enticing and works really well; Hannah’s brain has already shut off and she’s left just staring at this girl. Hannah’s gaze follows the girl and her green dress across the room as she comes over to the bar and sits on the opposite end of where Hannah is.
Getting up, she nods to Tyler to let him know that she’s leaving to go talk to that girl and makes her way over to the other end of the bar.
As she approaches to other end, she sees the girl sitting on a stool facing the bar and there’s an empty seat next to her. Taking a deep breath, Hannah sits down next to her.
The girl turns to face Hannah almost as soon as Hannah sits down, “I thought you’d never notice.”
Hannah turns towards her as well, a little taken back at the statement and chuckles, running her fingers through her hair nervously, “Well I did and in the end that’s all that matters.”
The girl is absolutely beautiful. She has bright green eyes, almost the same color as her dress or perhaps even emeralds themselves. Out of her lush, red lips, she is now asking Hannah, “What’s your name?”
“Hannah. And yours?”
The girl closes the space between them, placing her hands on Hannah’s knees and leaning her face next to Hannah’s. Hannah feels the girl’s warm breath hit her ear as she whispers, “Stephanie.”
Hannah’s pulse quickens and she places her hands over Stephanie’s on her knees. She presses her lips against Stephanie’s ear and asks, “You wanna go somewhere private?”
Stephanie responds by sliding off of her barstool, stepping closer into Hannah and running her hands up Hannah’s thighs until she can grab onto her hips. She then grabs Hannah’s hands and starts to pull her away from the bar, “Yes.”
Hannah gets pulled into a bathroom stall and waits until Stephanie is done locking it to pin her up against the door and press their lips together. Stephanie tastes like alcohol, bad decisions and the premonition of impending regret. But Hannah pushes that to the back of her mind because Stephanie also smells really good. So good that the smell of whatever she’s wearing is able to overpower the reek of vomit, booze and whatever else is in this bathroom.
This is just like college. Drunken nights in bars and even drunker hook ups. Stumbling through doors as fast as possible, fists tangled in hair and clothes. Clinging both desperately onto each other and that this idea is a good one.
Stephanie is all warm skin and hot, uneven breaths as Hannah trails kissing lips down her neck. Marking skin in hickeys that’ll last longer than Stephanie’s memory of tonight.
Inexorable thoughts flood Hannah’s brain speculating whether Grace’s skin would be this hot and soft. Or if Grace would be making noises already and if so, how they’d they sound muffled by Hannah’s lips.
Hannah abruptly steps back, ceasing all physical contact with Stephanie and presses the heels of her palms into the sides of her head. Grace needs to get out of her head.
“Hannah, don’t be a tease.” Stephanie groans, curling her finger in a ‘come here’ motion.
Taking a deep breath, Hannah engraves the seduction on Stephanie’s face as she begins to undress herself into her mind to remind herself that this is in no way Grace. Hannah grabs Stephanie’s wrists before she can unzip her dress any farther, pinning them on either side of her, “I’ll do the undressing.”
Stephanie’s chest heaves, but she nods, wrapping her legs around Hannah’s waist, pulling Hannah closer.
Hannah taps her wrists with fingertips, silently telling her to keep them there before sliding her hands down to Stephanie’s waist and reattaching lips to her neck.
Stephanie’s hand’s don’t stay still for long; almost as soon as she feels the first kiss to her neck, her hands tangle in Hannah’s hair, holding her head there, but Hannah lets it happen because at this point, she just wants to get this over with.
Hannah knew Stephanie’s dress was tight from the moment she laid eyes on her, but she didn’t know that it could be this tight. It’s a struggle for Hannah to even make room to slip her hands up Stephanie’s legs under this material, but she finally gets it with help from Stephanie.
Hannah’s so caught up in the whimper, moans and panting of this brown haired girl and reminding her brain to only associate what is happening with this girl that she doesn’t even notice that one of Stephanie’s hands has sneaked its way up her shirt until she feels to cup of her bra move and warm hand replace it. Hannah’s eyes clamp shut as she presses them harder into the door, arching into the touch. Stephanie’s hand starts moving and Hannah has no choice but to moan and bite into her shoulder in order to prevent her tongue from spilling out the only name that she came here to forget.
Grace.
This is no way to deal with her feelings for someone. She’s not in college anymore. What is she doing?
Fighting through to clouding of her mind, Hannah begins pulling her hands out of Stephanie’s dress, but Stephanie takes this movement the opposite way of its intent and she begins rolling her hips into Hannah.
Hannah is able to ignore it well enough to successfully pull her hands from the dress. She unwraps the brown haired girl from around her waist and attempts speaking, “Stephanie...” But Stephanie has now kissed her way down to Hannah’s chest and is currently using her mouth for something other than speaking.
It catches Hannah by surprise and she’s frozen in place, letting it happen for a few moments before she remembers what she was doing and quickly steps away, fixing her bra, and breathing out, “Stephanie… we have to stop.”
A progression of emotions cross Stephanie’s face; from confusion to hurt and she whispers, “Why?”
Hannah feels bad, but not as bad as she’s feeling about almost hooking up in a bathroom, “You did nothing wrong, I just can’t. And you’re drunk and we’re in a bathroom for God’s sake.” She walks towards the stall door and Stephanie immediately steps away so she can let herself out.
As she walks out of the bathroom, she gets plenty of looks ranging from silent disgust to a silent praise. But she ignores them all and finds her way back to Tyler, who’s still on the barstool where she left him.
“Hey girl, you look like you had a good time.”
“Actually the exact opposite.” Hannah sighs.
Tyler looks at her confused, “What went wrong? ‘Cause you look like you just got some.”
“I couldn't do it Tyler. Whenever something happened, my brain would compare it to Grace or imagine Grace in the situation instead. And I can't have sex with another girl while all I'm thinking about is Grace.”
“Alright, you and Grace really need to have a talk. Let's go home.” Tyler tells her, sliding off his barstool and linking his arm in hers.
He leads Hannah out of the club and into a cab, not once letting go of her arm as they ride home.
Just read your last reply about posting a new part of your fanfic will that be tonight?
Yea, technically it was supposed to be uploaded a night or two ago, I don’t remember, but I got slammed with work. But I am going to post it right now and hopefully I can get back on my posting schedule.
Hartbig. AU. SFF. SFW. 2,061 words. (Roughly) based off of Taylor Swift’s album 1989. Sorry about posting more than a week late. My wifi is back and working now but I don't really have time during the week to write and I've been prepping for a trip for a little bit.
Grace was certainly acting strange. Hannah hopes everything is okay with her and that waking up like they did isn’t freaking her out. She rolls onto her side, finally being able to change position now that Grace is off of her, only to see a bright orange sticky note on the bottle of whiskey.
Perplexed, she reaches out and peels it off, holding it in front of her face. It says: “Hannah, call me when you get up. –N”
She groans, what does she need now? She sees her phone on the coffee table, but it’s too far. Hannah tries to stretch her arm like Mr. Fantastic can but despite all her effort, it doesn’t work.
She finally gives up, grudgingly rolling onto her stomach and slides her phone closer to her with her fingertips. Rolling onto her back, she turns on her phone and finds Naomi’s contact in her rolodex.
It only takes two rings for the line to pick up, “Hannah. You’re finally awake then? Do you know what time it is?”
Hannah winces and pulls the phone away from her ear, “I assume late considering how you sound like you’re about to yell. And could you not talk as loud?”
“You’re that hungover? Okay,” Naomi says more quietly, “And no, I’m not going to yell. I’m your sister, not your parent.”
“Then what was so pertinent that I had to call you?”
“It wasn’t pertinent, I just wanted you to call me-”
“The words ’call me’ were underlined.”
“-and explain to me why my pull out couch of a bed was occupied by my sister covered in lipstick with some girl snuggled into your chest. Not to mention you’re both blacked out. You better clean that couch or get a new one, I’m not gonna sit on that.”
Hannah covers her eyes with her hand, “There’s nothing to sit in. We didn’t do anything Naomi.”
“Mm-hmm. Okay and by the way, I took my car today.”
Hannah smiles. She can tell Naomi doesn’t believe her, “I’m being serious.”
“Okay, yea and I live in New York.”
“Naomi. I live in New York, you live in California. I did pass out with that girl, who’s Grace by the way, but I did not sleep with her. She’s my friend.”
“So, you really didn’t sleep with her and my couch is safe?”
“Yes, I promise. Where’d you sleep last night if we were on your couch?”
“No, we’re not changing the subject just yet, but I slept in your bed.”
“I still don’t know why you insist on taking the couch when you could just sleep in the bed with me.” Hannah would much rather discuss this than get chastised for potentially stupid things she did with Grace.
“I already told you, it’s so you don’t wake up when I get up at five for work. Now stop talking, we’re discussing Grace.”
Hannah lets out an audible sigh, “What could there possibly be to discuss?”
“Well we can start with what the hell were you two doing and make our way up to why there was lipstick all over you.”
“It’s not all over,” Hannah chuckles, “there’s just a few smudges on my chest probably from when she was sleeping.”
“Have you looked in a mirror? The reason there’s minimal red on your chest is probably because all of her lipstick came off on your face and neck. I don’t think friends casually kiss all their lipstick off onto the other’s skin.”
At that Hannah jolts up to a sitting position, which in retrospect was not the best choice for her head and she groans, “Fuck,” at the pain.
“What’s that for? You just realizing that you’re madly in love with each other but it only comes out when you guys are drunk?”
“No, because we’re not. I just sat up and it hurt.” Hannah tells her as she ignores her heart’s weird beating.
“Well, go look in a mirror.”
“Fine, but give me a minute or so to get up. What’re you doing right now? I thought you were here these weeks because you had all this business to attend to.”
“I do have a lot to do, but we’re on lunch right now. Are you at a mirror yet?”
“Almost, I’m slowly standing up right now.”
“Hurry up. Our lunch is almost over.”
“I’m walking into the bathroom right now-” Hannah stops dead in her tracks when she sees her reflection. Naomi wasn’t exaggerating. There’s a trail of red going from her jaw to her collar bone that causes her whole body to flush in heat at the thought of Grace pressing and dragging warm lips down her neck.
There’s this noise in her ear and for a minute she forgets that she’s on the phone with Naomi. She swallows nervously, “What are you saying? I wasn’t paying attention.”
She hears Naomi let out an exasperated sigh, “I asked you if you are seeing what I saw and if not hurry up ‘cause we’re starting to go back to the meeting room.”
“Yea I see it,” Hannah says quietly, her mouth suddenly dry, “I’m gonna go, you can go to your meeting.”
“Wait Hannah, are you okay? You sound-”
Hannah doesn’t hear the rest of Naomi’s sentence as she pulls the phone away from her ear, ending the call and placing her phone in the sink. She opens the mirror cabinet and takes out the bottle of Advil, dumping a couple into her hand before popping them into her mouth.
She closes the cabinet and looks at her reflection more closely studying all the lipstick marks, trying to figure out what happened. There’s a couple of easy ones that are just Grace’s lips pressed into cheeks, neck and in the space in between where her collar bones meet.
She traces her finger along one of them and imagines Grace- nope. That’s not right, brain stop it right now. She shakes her head and places both hands on the rim of her sink and looks back into the mirror.
The ones on her lower chest have to be from when Grace fell asleep on her, ‘cause she is not going to think about any other way that it could have happened.
On the other side of her neck there’s a shorter trail of lipstick and the first thing that Hannah can think of that describes the shape of it would be if Grace had trailed her tongue through parted lips down and across her neck, leaving two streaks separated by a thin strip of skin.
It all makes Hannah’s brain fuzzy thinking about Grace’s lips anywhere on her body. She sighs, leaning her elbows on the edge of the sink and letting her head drop into her hands. She cannot be thinking about that kinda thing, Grace is her friend. And these feelings are not feelings that should be occurring towards a friend. She can’t develop feelings for another straight girl.
But what proof does she have that Grace is straight? There’s been no talk of boyfriends. But there’s been no talk of girlfriends either. Although wouldn’t Grace have said something about being gay when Hannah did?
She needs to call Tyler. That’s what she needs to do.
She wipes off all of the lipstick to the best of her ability, then pulls her phone out of the sink and finds Tyler’s contact.
Sitting on the lid of the toilet, she rests her head on the counter and taps the green call button.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Ty.”
“Girl, what’s wrong? You don’t sound too good.”
Hannah runs her fingers through her short hair, “Yea, I have a hangover and we may have an ergo accido.”
Tyler’s voice lowers after hearing the word ‘hangover’, “What the fuck does that mean? Is that some of your Japanese shit?”
Hannah laughs, “No, Tyler! That’s the name we agreed on to refer to when I’m falling for a straight girl. It’s Latin and probably not correct, but it works.”
“Ohh. Wait, I though we agreed on something to do with Lindsey for you? Like you’d just casually mention Lindsey to me and I’d know.”
“Alright, fine. We’ll use that one. But Tyler, I’m still falling for a girl that I think is straight and it needs to stop.”
“How long has it been going on and why do you think she’s straight?”
“Not long. It’s Grace. I woke up with her today and immediately felt all too familiar feeling. She knows I’m gay so if she was too I think she’d have told me right?”
“Girl, I think you’ve been falling for her since you met her. You were flirting with her at the bar when you were drunk. And you know what they say about your actions when you’re drunk.”
“What!? Why didn’t you tell me I was falling for someone?!”
“I thought it was obvious to everyone including yourself that you liked her. Mamrie even noticed something. Now what happened that made you figure it out? You didn’t do anything stupid did you?”
“Eh, debatable. I drank with her and Mamrie and long story; short her and I ended up waking up on my couch, my neck, face and chest covered with her red lipstick. But we didn’t sleep together or even kiss each other on the lips, I don’t have any color on my mouth.”
“That sounds… I don’t even know. How’d she respond?”
“I’d say not well. I woke up when I felt her get off of me and she was really jumpy. I told her she could stay and I’d cook but she said no and left.”
“Okay, make sure to give her some space then.”
“I know I should, but I wish she would’ve just stayed and we could’ve talked about it. Now it’s like she’s opened my heart without knowing it while simultaneously building a wall around hers.”
“Ooh, you have it bad. I’m coming over. I’ll be there in like ten minutes. Is your sister there or is she out?”
“She’s at a meeting.”
“’Kay, see you.”
…
Tyler showed up four, five hours ago with takeout Chinese food and all they have done since then is lounge on the couch and eat. They’ve watched ‘Love It or List It’, a bunch of dumb TLC shows and then Tyler had turned on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’.
Hannah looks over at Tyler from her slouched position and sees that he’s dozed off; figures he would when he turned on a show that he insisted that Hannah should watch. His phone is balanced on his knee, so Hannah grabs it. She knows he has Grace’s number from when Grace brought her home and she needs to at least make sure Grace doesn’t hate her.
He should probably change his password, using ‘8769’ isn’t that original since most people know he’s in an online relationship with a guy named Troye. Troye would probably be mad if he knew that Tyler’s password spelled out ‘Troy’ instead of ‘Troye’.
She finds Grace’s number, typing it into her phone and then presses the call button.
For a minute she almost thinks that she’s going to get sent to voicemail, but Grace finally picks up, “Hello?”
“Hey Grace, its Hannah. I got your number from Tyler because I didn’t want to disturb you today, but I’m sorry-”
“Hannah, I can’t talk now. I have to go.”
The line cuts dead and Hannah is sitting there, somewhat shocked. Why is Grace pushing her away?
“Hannah, I did not just hear you talking to Grace on the phone in my half asleep state, did I?” Tyler murmurs.
Hannah tosses his phone back at him, “You did, but don’t worry it didn’t work. She hung up on me.”
“I’m telling you, give her some space. How’d you feel if you woke up on top of a shirtless guy?”
Hannah scrunches her face at him and he continues, “Exactly. It’s freaking her out, so just give her time to process and then y’all can talk. In my opinion there’s definitely a reason what happened ended up happening more than just alcohol, but it probably wouldn’t have happened without it.”
“You’re right,” Hannah sighs, “I’ll wait for her to try talking to me.”
“Good! And in the meantime let’s go hit some clubs to get your mind off her.”
