Did a thing tonight. Got a decent deal on a black leather seat from an 06’ WRX wagon. IT DOES NOT JUST BOLT IN! That said, I used the 1999 legacy side brackets (because the new seat had none) and the 06’ center bracket hinge. (I recommend building new brackets if you can, or modify the 99’ I would have but wasn’t home with my welder) You have to trim both hinge pins about half off. Otherwise it’s too wide. The center bracket hinge only reaches one hole so you have drill and tap another or use self tapper. The 99 legacy side bracket hinges don’t reach both original bolt holes. So I drilled another hole and used a longer self tap bolt to reach and secure. The passenger side hung hole has to be drilled out to fit the 06’ hinge pin. The bottom seat pad fits right where it should and was easy to get into place. As you can see, it looks really nice once in place. I have a plan for the interior that involves new front racing seats and houndstooth trim upgrades on the door panels and headliner. Hence the black leather rear seat. #diy #shadetreemechanic #subarulegacyproject #projectcar #1999legacy #subarulegacy #legacy #lowbudget @broscience_bob @rubberhitsthepavement @senselesstuning @projectownersclub @subiehulk @_cheezy._ @blind.native https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw5tCGYnu-l/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=icxoc85t6ixa
