19.22: Mama.
Sonny Carisi in Mama, 19x22 "She was faithful to her one true love for 50 years. So maybe you can die of a broken heart."
I’m totally here for how gentle and soft he was to Jasmine. I need a Hanssen to confide in.

Well, now we know why there was zero hype for this episode. I figured it was going to be boring after I checked social media this morning and found more comments about the promo for next week’s season finale than the ep itself.
- The case was boring. For a case that had quite a few twists and turns it went by so slowly. And the actual conclusion was such a let-down. Plus, they had to throw in another ‘shocker’ with the son’s Oedipus complex. Ugh. Old people do get (sexually) abused, so wasn’t there an actual case they could have ‘ripped from the headlines’? Or at least looked at?
- Maddy’s one night stand Max was alright though. Even when I figured he might be the rapist, he was enjoyable to watch. Might have made a more interesting case if they’d have had to prove something from the 60s.
- Cast didn’t get to shine or do much either? Rollins and Carisi did some investigating. Liv did her thing with the victim(s). Stone is still bland. But I’ll admit they’re not giving him much of a chance.
- We’ve been waiting for ages for Fin to make sergeant and this is it? Couldn’t we have gotten the party? Or how he got transferred back so quickly? That part was way more interesting than the actual case, so I don’t get why they brushed past it. It’s probably wishful thinking, but I also hope that this means the squad will be more of a squad: lieutenant, sergeant, and several detectives. Fingers crossed for a new team member.
- Just one thing: my eyes went very wide when Liv went on about how they’re family. Dude, Rollins and Carisi both just had traumatizing experiences, but ‘they’ll be fine’. When’s the last time they mentioned Barba? Or Sgt Dodds? Or Amaro?! SVU isn’t the only show that does this, talk about family and forget people the moment they’re off-screen for longer than an episode, but they used to be better at it.
That’s it. The finale does look better, though that’s not saying much. I too have already sighed over Liv getting in trouble again. People claim they saw Stone geared up in a police vest? That would be stupid. But the pics and sneak peeks have lots of Carisi looking gorgeous, so bring it on.
