That would take her, what, maybe twenty minutes? Jiang Mingxi was a quick and efficient person. She would come back from the shower and have her dinner soon enough. Yang Haoran contemplated the notebook he’d been flipping through. He didn’t particularly want her to see it --- didn’t particularly want anyone to see it --- but Jiang Mingxi never actually looked in his notebooks. As far as she was concerned, his notebooks were either 1) the boring remains of college notes 2) his business. He might have had a problem if it had been Zhao Yuhang, who viewed curiosity as an obvious aspect of social interaction, but Jiang Mingxi would only be curious if he asked her to be curious.

This was a good thing, because if she actually read through his notebook, she’d probably think he was insane.

Later that night, Jean laid awake in bed for hours, unable to shake the feeling that someone was watching him. At one point he even got up and checked the room to make sure he was alone and that there weren't any cameras hidden anywhere.

The next morning he woke up with a jolt and had to rush to the parlor so he could get to work on time.

However, it wasn't until a week later that Riko Moriyama made another appearance at the parlor, around noon that time.

"I'm here to make an appointment," he said once the bell on the door stopped ringing.

In her dreams, Yoo Joonghyuk dies, all over again.

“Why did you do it,” Yoo Joonghyuk says, accusingly.  “Why?”

She shoots him, again, and again, and with every shot, he sheds stardust.  He asks and he asks and the words get so mixed up in her head, until she’s the one screaming: “Why did you do it?” 

“You knew,” she accuses.  “You knew  why – we should have never done this again – there is a reason why there are no stars in the sky–”

Anna Croft wakes up.

But the moment Anna Croft moves, the body crumples in on itself.  There’s no blood, no flesh, no bone – all of it dissolves into nothing more than swirls of dust, glittering under the streetlamps. 

… Glittering.  That’s not right.

Upon closer inspection, each little speck is luminous in its own right – lit up as if by some fire within, shining fiercely against pitch-black asphalt like the stars of legend.  

The resemblance is not as superficial as it should be.

I have another one coming tomorrow. Can’t believe I wrote four for SQSN and they are completely different. This one is an AU inspired by beautiful art from 1attheedge and is very emotional and angsty.
