Can confirm 1Ds makeup line was awful hahaha, always thought it was kind of random that they did it (and posted pictures as if they were so involved), when none wore makeup.

1D "Midnight Memories" Makeup Kit Review

I purchased the "Midnight Memories" makeup kit for 30$ from Macys

Here's a full picture of the inside:

It came with a pack of 5 plastic stencils, I'm not sure if the stencils vary depending on which kit you buy:

First I tried the nail polish, I don't really feel like you can go too wrong with nail polishes so it was pretty satisfying:

Next was the eye shadow palette. It comes with 5 different colors, the middle glittery shade was a weird gooey consistency and was really hard to get off my finger. Other than that the other 4 were fairly good quality and the color payoff was good. 

-"Dont Forget Where You Belong" is a shimmery pink color and had probably the best payoff out of all of them.

-"Little White Lies" was probably the most disappointing shade. It barely had any color payoff and what little it had just sort of looked dirty.

-"Half A Heart" is a shimmery grey color. The color payoff was manageable.

-"Midnight Memories" was the glittery shade. The consistency was weird and gooey and I wouldn't want to put it on my eyes honestly. Once I got past the top layer of glitter it turned into a weird bluish shimmery color. Not very pleased with it.

-"Strong" is a shimmery looking black that just goes on matte. From what little I put on my arm it seemed to be a pretty decent black.

The "Better Than Words" eye/body crayon was a huge thumbs down. It's the cheapest quality crayon they could have picked. It has a waxy consistency and goes on poorly. It says "blackest black" on the packaging and it couldn't be more misleading:

The "Little Black Dress" volumizing mascara was also a thumbs down. I wasn't really expecting much from it. I didn't even really want to put it on my eyelashes so I just swatched it on my arm. It smells gross and like chemicals and its a really thin consistency:

The "Through The Dark" lipgloss was DISGUSTING. It smells really sweet which I guess is better than the alternative. When I swatched it on my arm I thought it was a pretty good color and was pretty okay with it. Then after I put it on my lips and I couldn't get it off fast enough. The color was fine, but there's glitter in it. Normally when you see glitter in lipgloss it's fine and looks good. The glitter in this made it feel like I had gotten sand on my lips. It was grainy and horrible. It also says that it glows under UV light, but I wouldn't wear it long enough to see if that actually works:

The "Best Song Ever" lipstick was also a bust. It looked alright on my arm and the consistency felt alright, but the second I put it on my lips I wanted it off immediately. It went on my arm actually looking red, but on my lips it was a very very very light red and didnt blend well at all. The formula is dry and unimpressive:

So overall, in my opinion, it was a waste of money. If you're buying it for the products alone then save your money. If you're just looking for cute One Direction merch then go for it. I'm not too torn up about it, seeing as it was only 30$, but if you have 30$ to spend and you're thinking about buying this then I'd say go buy better stuff. It's a cute idea for a little girl/boy who likes 1D and can use it as play makeup. But for everyday use its a no from me.
