okay. for another happy one (i think), they don't know about us. not just for the potential secret relationship era of it all, but also because i don't think that anyone in their family really understands depth of their relationship as it is now, and they're not even dating (i mean, who the hell actually knows about eddie's will outside of eddie, buck, and eddie's attorney?).
i think about the will every single day. like no one knows about it except for buck, eddie, and this random attorney and i think about that in relation to that one scene in season three or so — when buck was with maddie and chim and they were talking about how extraordinarily fast gossip travels at the 118, even the personal things. "What else would we do on a 24 hour shift?"
and it's just...in s5 buck tells taylor that 'eddie's being weird' and hen clocks immediately that buck's upset about losing half of his family, and it's like they know each other so well, so fundamentally, but none of the 118 knows about the will. my bet is that bobby doesn't either, even for the paperwork, but then again it's like, of course eddie would put buck in his will.
because there's the footage somewhere of the well collapse, buck clawing at dirt for his best friend, his partner, and that's a little "they don't know what they're talk, talk, talking about", even if they can see the buddie of it all. who would've thought buck would lose it that bad? i mean, do they know about buck breaking down in front of chris? did they know about eddie fixing his eyes on buck as the fight left him just to make sure he wasn't hurt? do they know about after the tsunami, eddie putting his thumb on the crook of buck's neck? just there? do they know about the will? do they know that buck and eddie have been a forever sort of thing for a while now? it's just—ugh
