I went to see One Direction last night at the O2 and here are some pictures I took :).

Went to OTRA in Santa Clara. Probably won't make a full report on it or anything, but I'll probably add comments to other reports as I see fit.

so i went and saw one direction last week which i havent really listened to them since like senior year of high school? freshman year of college? idek but i had floor tickets and i was like im gonna enjoy this show hell fuckin yeah

so like after a bit of weird planning and bag selling and mcdonalds, tierra and i roll up to nola and AMAZINGLY only get turned around once. we MAKE IT. and not only do we make it to new orleans, but we make it to the fucking superdome in one whole piece and not as shattered as usual. so we skip past the merch and into the place and i am just greeted by screams. thousands and thousands of girls screaming and 5sos is on the stage and i can see their faces from the video screens (i think they were doing their amnesia song) and i am just completely overwhelemed like holy shit little girl power. 

so we get our wristbands and roll to the floor and i just look up and see SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE IVE NEVER BEEN INSIDE THE SUPERDOME BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST SO HUGE AND THE PLACE WAS FILLED WITH LITTLE GIRLS SCREAMING and 5sos is playing some cover and tierra and i are trying to find our seats and we get there and are next to this quiet little girl who’s excited in a quiet way and her mother and they were literally so wonderful to be next to. anyway we get to hear the american apparel underwear song and the lil boys roll out and then there is like an hour wait between the two sets.

so theres music videos and ads on the video screens and EVERY TIME 5SOS OR 1D IS ON THERE EVERYONE SCREAMS LIKE BRUH YOU JUST SAW ONE OF THEM YOURE ABOUT TO SEE THE OTHER #CHILL and tierra and i sit there and discuss like our religions test that we have in like 4 days HA. the girls behind us kept talking about how they wanted to fuck harry or callum or someone idek that was weird to hear from some 13 year olds. so there’s some waiting and some chilling and fast forward like an hour

so. the lights barely flicker and everyone knows its time and we all stand and its dark and then the band is rolling out while some video is playing tbh it was cute and then i notice one of the screens is moving on up and one direction rolls out and my god i have never heard a more thunderous roar.

so this show was one of the weirdest things i have ever done in my life like they were singing, cool. i knew about half the songs so that was pretty solid and they were just bopping around and tbh i’m not even sure if i actually heard them sing but i was aware that a song was happening. 

so obvs i paid attention to niall the whole time. so i’m sitting there like wow it is niall in the flesh and also like um thats bby!seth in the flesh and he was just being cute and on his guitar and he kept like side galloping up and down the stage aisle and making weird faces and just chillin

lemme tell you about zayn tho. okay. like he is a real person who really exists. of all of those people i went to see zayn was the one i was least expecting to be real but he was. he really was. did he do any interaction? nah. did he steal the show? yah. this boy’s eyes literally sparkle and glisten and just shine. like i could see them showing me the light while he was on stage and if that wasn’t enough the video screen also captured it and was just so close up and yall. zayn exists. 

harry was in his own world the entire frigging time like he was just swinging the mic stand everywhere and wandering off and like talking to people in the audience all like “are you ok? do you need water?” *throws water bottle* *thumbs up* he is literally a mother. he was rockin the bun and just EVERYWHERE i couldnt keep track of him but he niall were just kind of doing their own thing he entire time. also he has a super british-y voice like i knew that but like that was weird irl. and then out of no where he was all “IS IT ANYONE’S BIRTHDAY? YOU? HOW OLD? LETS TELL SAVANNAH HAPPY BIRTHDAY” and then we sang some girl happy bday even though it wasnt her bday and the 32 yr old mom near us was hella trying to get his attention. anyway. long hair. curls. VERY INTENSE ALMOST ANGRY LOOK WHILE SINGING I WAS SLIGHTLY CONCERNED

louis was kind quiet like he spoke but he wasnt like HEY THERE!!!! or anything but he was just nice and lovely and yall when he sang you could SEE how much he was enjoying himself and how confident he was with it like yall i’m so happy he’s happy and singing and also doing some weird running with niall like i dont even know how to explain it but he KEPT DOING THIS WEIRD HALF JOG UP AND DOWN THE STAGE also his tattoos were v nice

the only thing you need to know about liam is that one point he like shoved his mic stand towards harry and got his nasty cast in harrys face and harry just looked at him with a wtf look and moved away.

one thing that really stood out to me was that there was a lot of talking? and banter? like “oh hey new orleans we’re really feeling that this is gonna be a good night” and then like two songs later “new orleans this is just a wonderful night wouldnt you say that its possibly our best night lads?” and like ten minuets later “this is definitely our best show all tour new orleans” and that just KEPT HAPPENIN LIKE BRUH GET ON WITH THE SHOW I PAID YOU TO SING so there was that random ass kissery and the birthday thing though niall’s bit with the “here’s some background on this song” was alright idk just a lot of talking in comparision to other shows idk it was weird 

so my faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave song is happily ok like F A V E and i heard the opening chords and was like fUCK and it was soooooOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY LIKE we were boppin along and then the chorus rolled around and STREAMERS BURST OVERHEAD OUT OF NO WHERE AND I WAS JUST SCREAMING AND SINGING AND I GOT ONE I GOT A HAPPILY STREAMER!! and the little girl next to me wasnt able to get one so i broke mine so we could each have a piece AND IT WAS SO HAPPY I WAS HAPPY DURING HAPPILY

also they ramdomly played when the saints come marching in and niall seemed to be the only one who had a vague idea what the words are.

i also remember getting weirdly emotional during one of the songs so that was weird and unexpected.

also they did their fuckin rowin thing. ok.

OH AND THEY HAD A LIFT-Y PLATFORM THEY GOT ON AND DID A FEW SONGS ON which was cool finally everyone could see them and they had a cute little pixel-y them underneath actual them and then on the front with the rest of the stange their pixel selves’ mouths moved while their real selves sang it was so cute omgomgomg

and apparently before the lil break they like disappeared like idek where i was looking but they were closing out a song and the next the lights were dim and they were not there i dont know what happened

the signs people had were wild like some were kinda suggestive like I ONLY WANT 1D: HARRY’S! but some were nie and cute and lyrics and some people somehow rigged lights on to them so they blinked um ok?

also there were fireworks? like the superdome is huge but they just had some roman candle-y type things blowin every few songs so that was wild and probably dangerous.

so back to the girl we sat next to like she was so adorable and lovely like she was quiet but during the show she just sood there with wide eyes and didnt take them off and like you werent supposed to stand on the chairs and they had security walking around telling people to get off which was ridiculous this show has little kids and your floor is flat they’re gonna need to see somehow esp when they paid hella cash to be there. so i was watching out for them and i gave them the streamer and the mom was just so happy and nice and thankful like aw omg i was so glad we made their show nice. they left during the encore and i was like OH NO YOURE GONNA MISS OUT and i felt so bad for the girl but she was so happy to just be there so. just lovely people. i want people to have a good concert experience.

also a bunch of people left pre-encore i guess to beat the traffic or whatever but the 13 year olds behind us, their drunk mom came and was like “ok we’re going!” and the girl was like lol whatevz mom they’re sINGING!!! and the mom was like “i’m serious we’re leaving” and they were like yelling at each other and finally the girl turns to her friends and was like “we have to go” and literally SIX OF THEM HAD TO LEAVE WITH HER like they may have been annoying but that mom had no chill

and then it was like the end and we got about a billion MASSIVE (20x) THANK YOUs and there was some vague promise about coming back next year and then they ran back up and the video caught them as they disappeared into the cave never to be seen by my eyes again.

like it was a really good show and i was super happy and pleased.

and then ///tragedy////

so we’re making our way out of the superdome and i’m like “tierra you have my keys?”

so she checks her purse. no keys. i check my pockets. no keys. and them i’m like i dont even remember having my keys in my pocket at all. i dont remember locking my car. what. so we check where we were standing (snagging more happily streamers along the way) and, no keys. and i’m just like oh shit did i leave them in the car? are they locked in the car? did i pull them out of the ignition?

so we hurriedly and worriedly head back to the car. i’m worried it was stolen or we were locked out. but thankfully it was there and i go up to it and open the door and look at my keys sitting in the ignition. ok. o k.

anyway. it took awhile to get out of the parking garage but it was literally a straight shot back onto the interstate and back to BR.
