okay not to add to the discourse or anything but there is just one thing i need to get off my chest:

you know the age where interpersonal relationships really become core to our person and shape how we are and teach us navigate the world? highschool-college (16-22)

these are the ages where we start really deciding who to become close to and when we refuse outside help to decide that (parents/authority figures)

these are the ages when we start craving doing things for ourselves and to make decisions on our own

the friends you make during these times are the most critical to your transition into adulthood and the ones that leave the most significant imprint on you for the rest of your life

after these times you are going to inevitably meet and cherish new people, but the intensity of your feelings like when you were a late teen will be rare

like look at old people: notice how they always have that special fondness for the people they loved during those ages

where i am going with this is that no matter what happens, even if they dont interact w one another in real life for a long time, the boys will still have that energy with one another (unless they have a falling out; re: zayn)

that's why when we see them interacting now they seem so happy w each other: they spent those years together and were one of the few constants in each other lives

it rlly warms my heart to see them support and relish in the memories they share with us from time to time

also regarding zayn; we cant forget that we are v stupid and reckless during these ages, so when zayn started feeling truly trapped and wrong it is normal for the other guys to have tried to stop him from leaving and thus creating a rift when he decided to leave for his own health
