The quiet and repetitive ads replay and the crowd become more and more uneasy, quick flashes of the One Direction logo send the fans into the shallow level of screams.
The five tally on the drum kit gets everyone ready for 5 Seconds of Summer. And then finally they play. 5 Seconds of Summer blasts through an appropriately timed set and gets the arena ready for the main event.

It was only a short wait before the boys came on stage after that. A few classics played and a fan cloaked by the scream mask kept everyone entertained with his incredible dance moves to ‘I Like To Move It’ and ‘Summer Lovin’’.
Then it was time, everyone screamed, even the Dads. The stage unveiled and slowly lifted to reveal the five gorgeous guys. They sang, they danced, and after a few songs they stopped to greet the mass of fans. And these aren’t all tiny little teenaged girls; I saw Grandparents, Fathers, Brothers and Boyfriends too.
‘How are you SYDDDNNNEEEEYYYYY?!’ They screamed. And so did we. Everyone waved about their flashing wands or the torches on their iPhones and we sang along as the boys stepped onto the large swing and flew over towards the back of the arena.

Niall even kept us up to date with the Footy scores next door, and when the Roosters won he cheered and they all put on their Jersey’s. They went through the classic tweets, and then located each person who sent them in. They built their human pyramid, although Niall sat out due to his bad knee.
After stepping off the swing and onto a separate stage they started off with ‘One Way or Another’

It was a long and enjoyable night with incredible graphics and videos that kept us entertained between every concession break. So to the encores. Everyone was cheering ‘One More Song’ and we got to leave hearing their latest song, and their first song.

It was definitely a night worth the year-long wait from the ticket sales. One Direction know how to put on a show, while still being themselves and not some choreographed boy band. They're individual, what’s not to love?
