1N2D Ep #57

Continuing the biggest fight in history, looking back, i don’t know if they were being super 100% serious or behind the cameras they just wanted to make it dramatic and fun. 

Anyway, the ep started off with all 5 members in black suits on a red carpet with Hunsoek in the middle standing in place of Hodong’s whilst Hodong is off on his own in casual attire claiming that he was the one to exclude the members XD

The members knew Hodong’s pride wouldn’t allow him to come to the members to sort things out, Sugeun went off to call Hodong over to see who will take which transportation, they played the balance game for it. Hodong came to where the members were and upon seeing Hunseok he was shocked af :’) it was priceless. The members got the bus and traveled in comfort whist Hodong had to travel by himself.

When they got to the port harbour before leaving to Sinui Island, they held the show’s openings separately, craving for attention, Hodong walks past where the members are. Hearing the news that the 1n2d team is there, the county chairman came to welcome them. There they settled their dispute and continued to be brothers for the rest of their lives. 

When they got to the island, they gathered some salt. Night falls, they begin to play bokbulbok. Tonight, 3 members need to leave at 2:30am to set up netting for the fishes. 

Jiwon, Hodong and Seunggi were caught, there they went with the local fisherman to put the net, Jiwon was HORRIFIED by the way he ate the fish raw............. then in the morning everyone went to catch some fish and rolled around in the mud. Happy happy ending.

1N2D Ep #55-56

Their first anniversary, for this special they go back to their ‘humble’ beginning, when the show just started and they weren’t popular at first. They go to Yeongdong. Since I haven’t seen the very first episode as there’s no sub for it yet, it was nice to see glimpses of the very first ep. 

First, they stop at a rest stop, Seunggi will attract a crowd, give out signs and get food in return. Even Sugeun’s stylist couldn’t resist lining up. 

Continuing their way to Yeongdong, they call the members that quit along the way. To recreate the first episode, they goes to the same resident houses and asks for food once again, this time they came prepared with entertainment. After obtaining food, they gather around the zelkova tree again, spun a cell phone - who ever it points to get to eat, but can only eat once with a spoon, if it gets dropped they can’t pick it up again. 

Then they play sleeping bokbulbok with an extremely spicy sauce. They play meaningless word relay to choose a winner - the winner will decide the rest’s order - picking the sauce. 

In the morning, the staff invited the singer of their unofficial morning wake up song to come and sing live - waking the members up. 

Now here comes the fun part. They’re still following the first ep tradition, Hodong and Jiwon stays behind, ate ramen ‘forcibly’ whilst the others went to find food. Seunggi and Mong went to a stream and tried to catch a fish but they ended up with a handful of snails. Segeun and KimC went to get some vegetables i think. 

Whilst the others work, Hodong and Jiwon coerce together to get ramen from Yu PD, along with Daeju and Hunseok (Mong’s manager) and together the 5 of them share ramen. Sugeun and KimC came back from getting food, and caught the remaining ramen that weren’t properly thrown away. This set off one of the greatest fight of ALL TIME. (side note: to this day, I still don’t know if it was real, how did they talk to each other after the filming? were they really set on leaving Hodong out?)

Anyway, Sugeun and KimC of course wasn’t happy about this, whilst they prepare breakfast and vegetables, they secretly calls Jiwon over along with the rice he was cooking. They planned to outcast Hodong. Not knowing what was happening, Seunggi and Mong came up with a plan - that Seunggi got hurt whilst fishing as to not get scolded when the other members realised they couldn’t catch any fish. So Seunggi came back, pretending to have hurt one of his foot, Hodong were being outcasted by the other 3 ran to Seunggi and helped him. 

Hodong made Seunggi and Mong choose sides, they both chose the other 3 side. Hodong were dumbfounded by their decisions, he started to say that it was the last episode for the other 5 members of the show XD (omg so petty seriously) The others couldn’t believed how he reacted. After that, Hodong asks all the staffs to choose a side. Everyone chose the 5 members, not many camera were filming Hodong. Hodong then calls Yu PD over, but he respectfully declined. Hodong’s next target was Mong’s manager - Hunseok, Hunseok immediately ran to Hodong’s side, Mong were furious at his actions, Mong threatens to stop paying for this car, house payments (cuz he pays for his income obviously) Hunseok came back to Mong’s side. The 5 members then played the same trick, they called Hodong’s manager over - Yeongji and gave him a bite of the food, Yeongji gave in. Hodong is outcasted again, the members gave him one last chance to come to them, but his pride didn’t allow him to. At the last resort, Hodong turned to Daeju, offering him the lead writer position, Daeju immediately ran over. Hodong has successfully secure one staff. Fired up by the fight, the other members agreed to have a ‘luxury’ openning with suit and tie, Mong even went so far as getting his manager - Hunseok (as he resembles Hodong) to stand in the middle - to replace Hodong’s absense. Hodong, frustrated with what’s happening, he started to shout out his right arm man’s name - LEEE SUUU GUENNNNN, Sugeun were not affected by it. And just like that they filmed the show ending. 

When everyone was about to leave, Hodong asks Seunggi to stay and talk but Seunggi ignored him and left anyway. Hodong stayed behind with Daeju for a while. 

After the official filming of the trip, the last 5 minutes of the next trip began. It opened up with Hunseok’s remarks - he was trying to replace Hodong. (side note: even though I enjoyed the idea of leaving Hodong out for that fight, I thought it was rude of them to make Hunseok pretend to be the main MC and do the opening statements :/ but now it’s just super fun)

The Olympic Special, for this ep they don’t travel anywhere but met up in a huge gym somewhere and had competitions with gold medalists at Badminton,  Archery and Ping Pong. This is because the Olympic was near and they did a special to hype up morale for viewers as well as competing athletes.

1N2D Ep #53

I really just loved the start of this trip!  (~continuing from 51-52 post) yes so for this trip, members will be spilt into 3 teams of 2. They must travel with their friend to Inje which is about 2.5 hours from seoul. They write the name of the member they want to travel with on a piece of paper and let the PDs pair them up. Sugeun and Mong got 2 votes each, so they’re paired up (side note: this will create a great butterfly effect later on XD) Jiwon and Seunggi got 1 vote each and becomes partners... Which leave Hodong and KimC together without any votes.. XD the pairing are so much better than expected! Not to mention no one picking the last pair, they also get stuck with the new/rookie Yoo PD and new/rookie writer - Daeju <3 and as a bonus their VJ starts his job that very day. 

They have car a bokbolbuk - Hodong and KimC gets the car with a tent; Sugeun and Mong gets the car with money; and Jiwon and Seunggi gets the car with lots of couple tshirts which they will exchange for food later. 

(The funniest last 5 minutes that makes me laugh everytime, Daeju and Yoo PD gets told off by Hodong, their interactions is gold)

Sugeun and Mong sleeps at a motel for the night as they have the money. Seunggi and Jiwon sleeps at Jiwon’s house and Hodong and KimC sleeps in their tent on a university campus, they ran into some students and exchanged some stuff for ramen. 

As Sugeun and Mong makes their way to Inje after sleeping, Mong starts singing in the car and came up with a new song - This is the beginning of the great royalties battle - Sugeun wants credit for creating the song.... they fought for the rest of the way to Inje and continued when everyone met up. 

Then 3 teams competed in a kayaking race to collect flag for food, this bonded Sugeun and Mong again. After that they have a quiz and gets water shot at their face when they answer incorrectly.

1N2D Ep #51-52

The episode starts off with the members arguing about who to kick out as they do a simulation for a family of 4 to travel within Korea for ~$200. In the end, Seunggi and Sugeun were left out, they had to fend for themselves by appearing on Hong Jinkyung’s radio show, and worked for Music Bank. Whilst they were arguing though, Sugeun suggested Hodong should be left out due to his unreasonable weight (the weight should also be average since family of 4 is the average in Korea XD) and the response Hodong counter act with is “I don’t think so!”- in English and it was the best XD. (side note: seriously one of the best moments)

The members travel to Jangsu, whilst listening on the live radio broadcast of Seunggi and Sugeun’s. On the way to base camp, they stopped at a restaurant for lunch with their ~$200 and decided to do a hidden camera prank on the new PD that had just joined them (side note: Yoo PD joined, left at the same time as KimC to work on Music Bank, then came back to 1N2D in season 3 but had to step down after some time due to the mental stress) They ended the prank with a chicken fight XD (I love this team so much) Hodong had fun, flinging out Yoo PD :’)

Seunggi and Sugeun bus to Jangsu and had Mong and Jiwon pick them up from the station at night time. 

The next day morning is the first ‘Health marathon’ where they had to run a marathon whilst getting bokbulbok drinks/snacks on the way. 2 members can be exempted from the marathon and can instead commentate whilst riding on the back of a truck by quickly obtaining a commentator jacket in the morning. The marathon names they came up with is freaking hilarious! Sugeun and KimC got to commentate.  Jiwon - Ahsumcha 아 숨 차 (I think this means breathless?) Hodong - Bajiga Jakda~ 바 지 가 작 다 (~my shorts are too small XD) but his real name is ‘Saiji Eopda’ (there’s nothing in his size) Mong - Ahddamna 아땀나 (sweat) Seunggi - Yisunam 이수남 (not sure of the meaning of this one) After official filming of the trip, the last 20 minutes of the episode started for the next trip. They met up at a restaurant as they had to choose their partner for the next trip’s concept: Friendship Trip. (I’ll cover this more in post 53-54)

1N2D Ep #48-49-50

Since they divided their journey in 3 episodes, i’ll quickly summarize each ep as dot points form.

Ep 48:

Starts of long journey - i think they spent like 10 hours on the ship

Hodong hosted a special edition of ‘Love Letter’ on the ship with the Chinese stewardesses? and played some games with them.

(side note: love letter is a super old show that stopped airing not sure when, Hodong was the main MC in it)

Ep 49:

they got to Dandong Harbour and a lot of chinese fans showed up to welcome them, which was totally unexpected 

they had to cancel scheduled filming at a school due to leaked information which got the students hyped

They quickly worked together with the Chinese staff and held a concert for the fans

They visited a great korean poet’s birthplace. They had a ssireum match to decide on sleeping arrangements

They slept at a Korean-Chinese’s house 

Ep 50 (finally)

begins to head to Mount Baekdu by bus

they climbed for ~20 minutes (in terms of ep duration)

Got to Cheonji on top of Mount Baekdu with great difficulty (the last ~15 minutes were spent there)

They poured water from the south, east, west most of korea into the lake in hopes that it’ll helps with the reunification process with the north. 

(side note: from having to watch this waaaay too many times, it gets boring because the trip is so long, it’s also exhausting to watch, but the first time I watched it, it was super emotional and this show is such a great show indeed)

1N2D Ep #45-46-47

A Special trip in Baekryeong Island, departing from Incheon port. Whilst on the ship, they played a multiplication game for food. After the game, they slept for a while and was awoken by the PD telling them they’ll stop by an island ‘Daecheong’ and that one person must get off, catch a mullet then they’ll be able to join the rest on Baekryeong. There, Mong volunteered to go courtesy of Hodong’s nomination. He caught one mullet after some struggles. (side note: his manager had to follow him, helped him catch fish,  ripped his pants and had to put on a trash bag he found...)

The rest proceeded to Baekryeong island using the camper van they won in the previous trip. They stopped by the beach, Hodong went into the ocean. On the way to their base camp destination, they saw some Marines helping local villagers with farming, decided to stop and help out. There they had lunch together, and promised to hold a soccer match with the soldiers. 

After the eventful and unexpected meeting, they went to pick up Mong from the port, and drive to their base camp for the night. Bored, they put on a short skit during a break from filming. Then slept in their new camper van. 

The next day, they go to the soldier’s camp to have the soccer match, but instead they teamed together with the marines (9th company) they met the day before in order to defeat the 10th company (I’m not sure of the division as I’m not Korean nor have I been to the army). They were defeated in the end. Not satisfied, they held ssireum matches against the 10th company and were defeated without mercy. At end’s wit, Hodong stepped up, he will defeat all 6 players by himself so that everyone will get snack. And without a surprise ending, Hodong won by himself. 

At night, they toured around the marine’s sleeping quarters, had a short interview, when an alarm goes off, everyone ran outside and started firing a tank into the black sky. 

The official trip filming ends, the last 10 minutes of the episode, the members showed up at KBS building to discuss their trip to Mount Baekdu. (side note: tbh I’ve watched this a couple of times, the last 10 minutes of the 46th episode were more entertaining and fun than the rest of the episode.)
