PLEASE SHARE: As a proud member of the Industry and Education Advisory Council of the Careers in New Emerging Media Areas (CINEMA) Program at Georgia State University, I'm asking that you share this information with Atlanta based young adults ages 18 to 24 interested in pursuing a career in the Television and Film media industry. CINEMA offers paid training related to information and communication technology (ICT) skills in film, media and entertainment to prepare participants for entry level jobs in the industry and other related fields. So I asked Grammy Award winning music producer Zaytoven about whether or not he dreamed about creating music for movies, being that he and Future are currently working on the soundtrack and score for the upcoming Superfly remix movie. Zay explained how he never had any intentions on making music professionally at all. This isn't my daughter's school. My daughter doesn't even go to school in this particular city, but I understand how important it is for someone like me to make time to read to other people's children with the same love and patience as I do for my own. This first time Principal for the Day experience really hit home today being that I VIVIDLY remember what junior high felt like 30 years ago when I was still getting familiar with walking the hallways of Longfellow Middle School. By that time my hometown of Flint, Michigan had already been on a fast paced decline, and I was unfortunate enough to had already seen a lot of craziness happening in my neighborhood and through my older siblings eyes. Middle school was definitely that turning point to where I was forced to grow up fast because that's when I began to see a lot of my peers lose their lives in so many more ways than one. Fortunately the in school at-risk program that I was ushered into had enough of a positive effect the it increased my chances of winning enough to believe what was possible. That's one of the reasons I feel obligated to pay it forward, and honored to be in a position to introduce this next generation of leaders to their why, while explaining to them how to achieve greatness.
