From • @outsidefolkart Howdy to Ben Frost by @thedukeofmarlow ⬇️ In the Duke’s HOWDY! series, he travels through time, his childhood, and says “howdy” to his favorite artists along the way. A signature smiley face, cursive “howdy” and over-stated signature are trademarks or the series. PLEASE NOTE: @benfrostisdead is not an official collaborator on this work. The Duke simply used his blotter as a canvas. #benfrost #streetart #outsiderart https://www.instagram.com/p/CgKL89DjVrwK5TjlhwR2SMCu2udVk6U4b7Usho0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
"Cuanta más publicidad recibo como persona, más me daña como escritor. Pero digo sí a esto para poder decir con la conciencia tranquila que no a otro par de cosas que son muchísimo más tóxicas. Y eso es lo que yo saco de esto. Y cuando acabemos, no creo que vaya a haber muchas más ocasiones así."⠀ ⠀ "The more publicity I get as a person, the more it hurts me as a writer. But I say yes to this so that I can say with a clear conscience no to another couple of things that are much more toxic. And that's what I get out of this. And When we're done, I don't think there will be many more occasions like this."⠀ ⠀ David Foster Wallace⠀ Aunque por supuesto terminas siendo tú mismo / Although of course you end up being yourself⠀ & Ben Frost @benfrostisdead (artist)⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #contemporaryart #contemporaryartist #contemporary_art #modernart #modernpainting #artgallery #contemporaryartgallery #outsiderart #undergroundart #popart #popculture #popartist #vagabondwho #marcopolorules #benfrost https://www.instagram.com/p/CPOFkYFHuBp/?utm_medium=tumblr

Tim Hecker - Ravedeath 1972 Nothing like a warm bath of fuzzy noise after a long day of work. This is one of my favourite Hecker albums which is saying something. I love Heckers ability to harness white noise and warp it into a weird foggy blanket. I saw an interview with him once where he discussed fog. He seems to have quite the fixation with it and it comes across in his music. In that same interview he mentioned that he has a PhD. And his research was on megaphonics (really loud noises). There is, unsurprisingly a chapter on foghorns. Speaking of which, I did my MA at a nearby school and my professor once told me to get in touch with another professor who turned out to be Heckers supervisor. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet him when I was in Montreal but there's my six (three) degrees to Tim Hecker. Some other facts about this album. Ben Frost plays on and engineered this album. The photo on the front comes from the MIT "piano drop." A yearly tradition one of the residences has where they drop a piano from the roof (there's some great videos on YouTube of this) . . . . . #TimHecker #ravedeath1972 #Kranky #Krankyrecords #pianodrop #BenFrost #vinyl #records #nowplaying #nowspinning #Thelinernotes #albumart #vinyligclub #recordcollector #vinylgeek #recordcollection #vinyladdiction #albumart #vinylcollectionpost #records_feature
