VERSE OF THE DAY for 3 Dec 2021
Now the two (inside and outside, male and female) are one, when we speak truth among ourselves, and in two bodies there will [shall] be one soul without dissimulation (pretense or falsity). ( 2Clem 12:3, 1891 Lightfoot glossed )
NOTES ON 1-2 Clement
Only the first of these letters (1Clem) is likely St. Clement's, written when he was the fourth bishop of Rome and addressing the church in Corinth (Greece). The second (2Clem) is now usually recognized as an ancient homily (sermon) later associated with Clement. Both are included in various Biblical codices.
Clement has been associated with St. Peter the Apostle from the very early days of the Church -- a strain of the faith that runs in parallel with Pauline Christianity. The Acts of the Apostles is notable, for example, in focusing on Peter and Paul in succession (Acts 2-12 + 13-28) as the Church moved into the wider world.

Women in the Apostolic Fathers: Christ and the Church in 2 Clement
This post is part of an ongoing series examining Women in the Apostolic Fathers.
The section of Second Clement which most clearly references women has been called “undoubtedly the most complex part of the whole of the text of 2 Clement.”[1] Not only is the text itself not entirely certain at points, but the author’s argument proves rather hard to follow. (more…)

On Wednesday, February 12 from 6-8pm, the SFMTA will hold a public meeting at the Richmond District police station (461 6th Avenue) about proposed changes to the 2, 28, 28L, and 38L lines.
Muni is considering proposed service and route changes as part of the Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP)
Last year Muni began the 5L-Fulton Limited as a pilot project with overlapping local and limited service. The gist is that instead of a local and a limited line, the 5L begins making local stops then only limited stops after 6th Avenue where a short line making all stops begins and ends.
It was met with rave reviews and the SFMTA is looking to roll out a similar service pattern for the 28/28L-19th Avenue Limited, add supplemental service on the 2-Clement, and expand the 38L-Geary Limited to sundays.
Update: Since this was first posted, the "limited" lines have been rebranded "rapid" lines as part of implimenting the TEP, which itself has undergone a name change to Muni Forward.
