I showered three hours ago.

The air is heavy;

gulping down air like a malt.

My hair frizzy - out of control.

Piled atop my head.

Sweat dripping from my foredown

down my nose.

Pale skin glistens in the night.

Sticky to the touch.

This heatwave has gone on

endlessly.

I long for it to halt.
