Jehoahaz King of Israel
Jehoahaz did evil, so the Lord kept Israelites under Hazael king of Aram. Then Jehoahaz sought the Lord's favor, so He gave Israel a deliverer to escape from Aram. Israelites still sinned.
Jehoash King of Israel
Jehoash became king and did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He went to see Elisha, who was ill and about to die. Elisha had Jehoash shoot an arrow of victory over Aram, and then struck the ground with arrows to see how many times they would defeat Aram (3). Then Elisha died. Once, some Israelites were burying a man, but when the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came back to life.
Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel, but the Lord was gracious to them. Later, Jehoash recaptured Israelite towns by defeating Ben-Hadad (son of Hazael) three times.
Amaziah King of Judah
King Amaziah executed officials who murdered his father. He challenged Jehoash to battle. Jehoash told him to not ask for trouble, but Amaziah wouldn't listen. They battled, and Jehoash won. Amaziah was later killed.
Jeroboam II King of Israel
Jeroboam did evil in the eyes of the Lord, but the Lord had compassion for the Israelites.
Azariah King of Judah
Azariah did right in the eyes of the Lord, but the high places were not removed. The Lord gave him leprosy until he died.
Zechariah King of Israel
Zechariah did evil and was killed by Shallum son of Jabesh.
Shallum King of Israel
Shallum reigned in Samaria one month and was then assassinated by Menahem son of Gadi, who then attacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.
Menahem King of Israel
Menahem did evil. He gave Pul king of Assyria 1000 talents of silver to gain his support when Pul was invading the land (Pul then withdrew).
Pekahiah King of Israel
Pekahiah reigned for 2 years and did evil. He was assassinated by Pekah, one of his chief officers.
Pekah King of Israel
Pekah reigned for 22 years and did evil. During that time, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took a bunch of land. Pekah was killed by Hoshea son of Elah.
Jotham King of Judah
Jotham reigned for 16 years. He did right, but the high places were not removed. He rebuilt the Upper Gate of the temple of the Lord. Jotham was buried with his ancestors in the City of David.
