Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping Algorithm Template

This documents contains templates for addition and subtraction with regrouping problems. Students can use this template to organize numbers correctly according to place value and it will remind them to show how they regrouped in the top boxes. They can also use top section to draw pictures as a scaffold. 

There are several versions of the template:

3-digit addition

3-digit addition/subtraction (students must fill in operation)

This packet contains seven different activities that use place value strips to represent conceptual understanding of adding, subtracting, and multiplying whole numbers based on place value. These activities align with common core content standards and the mathematical practices. A set of mini-place value strips are added to this packet of activities. These strips are ideal for student use at their desk. This packet also contains a game based on place value strips.
