A breathtaking overtime goal in Game 7 with the USA, and Olympic gold for our Men's Hockey team. In truth it could have gone either way; the teams were so well matched.
“I recently rewatched the 2002 Olympic games, and seeing that one of the commentators said that Plushenko wanted everyone to skate well, but that Yagudin wanted everyone (that wasn’t him) to skate poorly really showed that as a skater, Evgeni Plushenko was a much better sport and showed good sportsmanship to the other skaters, while Alexei Yagudin only showed bad sportsmanship, it was almost too childlike. As an athlete, Plushenko deserves a lot more respect than Yagudin, even if they’re both known as bad people off the ice.”
was cleaning out some stuff at my parents’ over the holidays...proof that i’ve always had a thing for canadian figure skaters.
