The Republican vision is clear — ‘I got mine. The rest of you are on your own.’ Republicans say they don’t believe in government. Sure, they do. They believe in government to help themselves and their powerful friends. After all, Mitt Romney is the guy who said corporations are people. No, Governor Romney, corporations are not people. “People have hearts. They have kids. They get jobs. They get sick. They cry, they dance. They live, they love, and they die, and that matters. That matters because we do not run this country for corporations. We run it for people, and that is why I support Barack Obama.

Comment of the DAY
Paul Krugman: Doris, R.I.P. (Personal) | October 29, 2012 | Some readers may know that for a long time Robin and I have had two sibling cats, Albert Einstein and Doris Lessing, both 19...Several days ago (Doris) stopped eating and drinking, seeming increasingly uncomfortable, and this morning we did the necessary and had her put to sleep. I bawled like a baby. But she had a good life.
Comment: I know the feeling as my own little guy passed away not long ago. Possibly they shared a premonition as to what life might be like during a Romney administration and figured they'd do better elsewhere.
