2016 edition of Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones, 297 pages. For fans of horror, werewolves, slice-of-life stories, or coming-of-age stories.
A bit different from the other books I’ve talked about, mostly because it’s not from the 70s or 80s. The book is kind of like a Supernatural episode told from the monster’s point of view. I love all the little details about werewolf culture, such as women not wearing pantyhose because as they transform into wolves, the hose wouldn’t be able to rip off them. When they’d turn back into their human forms, the hose would fuse into their bodies, resulting in werewolves mostly wearing jeans because they’d rip off easier.
So if you like tales told from the monster’s perspective, check this one out.
