I didn’t draw as much as I did last year this years was...a roller coaster for me let’s say thAT

but hEY I think I actually improved a lil this year, not as big of a jump as last year but AH WELL 

Im gonna punch 2018 in the face and hope to make much more art content in the future!!!

My 2017 art summary~

January No original art in January. :\ I was entirely focused on illustrating a children's textbook in time for the print deadline later on in April; there's literally hundreds of drawings done for this book, but I like this one best. ^^ June June was peak insanity for me when I was going warp speed to get the final issue of SSnPP done for Anime Expo. I originally tried this back in February/March leading up to WonderCon, but I grossly underestimated how much time the textbook would take and had to surrender my WonderCon booth, no refunds. X___x Luckily the amount of comic work I got done then allowed me to power through some 24 pages in June. ;D Thanks, me from 3 months ago!! July July was a pretty non-productive month. I just plain burned out after working on the textbook + SSnPP and lost all motivation to art. Also at this point I was dealing with the fact that I'd have to go live in another country for an entire year for most of 2018, so any hopes of a long-term studio career kind of stalled out. I did at least get to do some fanart for friends like @blueludebar (pictured) and @justzazdrawing October Inktober baby!! My first one ever attempted. I really enjoyed knocking out as much art as possible in a much shorter cycle than my usual process. I kind of fell into a one drawing every 2 days funk and it went on til' Thanksgiving, w-whoops. Sooo, yeah; the last 6 months have been an on-again/off-again state of lousy. It's hard to really feel good about 2017, accomplishment-wise. Thanks! for those who have watched me and might of remembered this fire ball, I decided to draw Crystal once again and try to do the Blue Exorcist art style and HHHHHH HOLY THIS LOOKS GOOD- O-O MY BABY! I haven't drawn Blue Exorcist Art related in so long like my FMA art, been focused on so much stuff pffft. Anyways, here is my first OC I made for Blue Exorcist which is Crystal Okumura. She is indeed a daughter of satan and thats going to stay that way. I did this for kicks because why the hell not? XD I got attached to her and went with her. I did go through changes in her backstory ALOT for it to make sense. Her mom died after child birth due to her heart not strong enough for the birth in the first place in general. Crystal growing up with the twins since she was a new born. Found out what she was at age 5 and had to keep it a secret of her being a daughter of satan since. Her having to wear the amulet on her neck since she was 5 to surpress her powers so she can learn how to control them without it going loose so much like her brother. The brothers DO find out about her but later on. At least it was in a way that she wanted which is telling the brothers at the same time in the same room together. whistles im not quite sure i improved honestly, maybe just with color, but my style jumped from semi-realistic to very cartoony(?). Looking forward to improving more in this 20 of 18 :’0

End of year summary! I didn’t get as much art done as I was aiming for but between a lot of health concerns, personal issues, and just the general state of the world this year... I’m surprised i was able to produce work at all. Really there was so much that restricted me from being more artistically active  (and nearly nonexistant online like some social-media cryptid)

Some of these had delayed posting or haven’t been posted yet, but I arranged them in the month that they were originally drawn in. Here’s to becoming a better artist in 2018 and not having as many roadblocks.
