The 2018 Boston Red Sox are the first American League team since the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers to win at least 13 of their first 15 games. Now remember folks, the Brew Crew played in the AL from 1969 as Seattle Pilots for one season before moving to Milwaukee as the Brewers until moving from the AL to the NL as of the 1998 season. The 1987 Brewers went 13-0 under first year manager Tom Trebelhorn. The Brewers had a number of exciting moments during 1987 with future Hall of Famer Paul Molitor going 39 consecutive games with a hit and pitcher Juan Nieces throwing the only no-hitter in Milwaukee Brewers history. So how does that bode for the Red Sox. Well honestly one doesn't have anything to do with the other. But if you look for signs in within Baseball History, the two aforementioned accomplishments made the Brewers season. Though they went 91-71, the Brewers would finish in 3rd place in the American League East seven games behind the AL East Champion Detroit Tigers and the Toronto Blue Jays. Granted if they had played in today's Baseball landscape with three divisions and two wild cards the 1987 Brewers would have at least gotten a Wild Card Bid since they had the 3rd best record in the AL. So who know how the season will play out for the Bosox.
