I have to say, I'm pretty damn impressed with myself and my last 7 days. Not to mention, I took Monday (yesterday) off. Last week I tallied up 27 miles. Highest mileage week so far! ✌️😎 . . . I'm slowly starting to see benefits. I'm down 11lbs from January; my recovery time is way better; I'm running more miles interest of walking them; my resting heart rate has lowered (it was 67 in January); through continued yoga, I'm becoming more flexible; my waist is slowly toning up. . . . Some days are easier than others. And I'm NOT always motivated. There's a misconception that people who always work out are always motivated and ready to go. False. We are not. Discipline kicks in when motivation is lost. Did I want to go to class today? Nope. Sure didn't. Did I regret going once I was there? Nope. I always feel better after I work out. But it doesn't mean I'm always motivated. . . . There are days where lacing my shoes up to run 3 miles is harder than running 10 miles. It happens. And it's okay. I'm learning to not be so hard on myself. It's making me less stressed. I'm trying to not focus on hitting arbitrary numbers. "Is that half mile I missed in Feb really going to matter by the end of the year?" No. No it isn't. I'm a really goal motivated person. If I tell myself I'm going to get 22 miles a week, but I only end up getting "21.5," it's hard to not just go walk a half mile. But what I'm trying to now focus on is adding that half mile on to my next run. Longer runs for me are more beneficial to my training than walking a half mile just to hit a number. . . . Now don't read that as "walking is bad or pointless." Because it isn't. At all. Everyone is on a different journey. You'll NEVER see me knocking someone for being happy they did a half mile walk. Ever. But that's their journey and goal. This is mine. (And I most certainly still count my cool down miles.) . . . I'm just trying to push myself to run less days only to force myself to run longer distances. I'm switching out two days already for swimming, so I'm getting there! . .March miles: 19.07 .
