Top Notes: This came out of nowhere. And by nowhere I meanwhile I was writing my Macavity the Mystery Cat 2019 analysis (which you can find on my Tumblr). It started with a statement. ‘Munkustrap reflecting on his internal struggle to break free from the catnip’s effects.’

It then turned into a story that’s over 7 pages.

Though please be warned. The organization of this story is rather all over the place. Munkustrap immediately is out of control mentally and I tried my best to show that. This is also the 2019 film verse. Because of this, I headcanon Cassandra as Munkustrap’s second, Alonzo as a little bit younger than Cassandra and is close to being a full protector, and Skimbleshanks as one of the protectors when he is there.

Characters: Munkustrap, Cassandra, Alonzo, Tugger, Mistoffelees, Skimbleshanks, Macavity (in Munkustrap’s mind)

Warnings: Lack of self Confidence, PTSD, Drug Use (Mentioned), Trauma

Summary: He was right there.’ Munkustrap thought with frustration that was clearly shown on his face.

Even after the Jellicle Ball and the Jellicle choice, he stayed in his den in the theater stewing. No one could get him to move from his spot either.

‘Why?’ He covered his face with a soft blanket. ‘Why would the damn catnip affect him so much?’

Bottom Notes: Is it still hard to believe that I wrote this? Because I am very surprised. This was my first time writing in the 2019 verse and having this many characters in one story. I usually try to stay between 1 or 2 but this is a lot. I’ll let you guys decide if Skimbleshanks is a friend, family, or in a relationship with Munkustrap. I tried to have it open-ended. I hope I accomplished that.
