May 31, 2019: Queen Letizia inaugurated the 78th Madrid Book Fair.
The Queen bought a few books during her stroll around the fair. Among them were:
“Tsunami”, an anthology put together by Marta Sanz that brings together several women that, through their experiences, explore the different facets -corporal, emotional, material, ideological - of what it means to be a woman in the 21st century. In a historical moment of visibility of the different forms of violence exerted on women - #MeToo, #TimesUp-, ten authors of different generations, with different ideas and experiences, reflect in an autobiographical manner and through different textual genres - story, essay , vignette, memory ... - about the sentimental, social, political and cultural impact of feminism.
“Retablo”, also by Marta Sanz. The cities and citizens of the countries are evolving under the conditions of gentrification phenomena, overflowing tourism or mass commercial outlet. A satirical, grotesque, critical tone covers this reality in the hands of Marta Sanz, one of the indispensable writers of current Spanish literature.
For Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, the Queen bought a series of books that teach politcs to children:
- ‘Cómo puede ser la democracia’ (What Could a Democracy Be Like)
- ‘Así es la dictadura’ (So This is a Dictatorship)
- There are Social Classes (There are Social Classes)
犬みたいでいいね
日曜日も月曜日もあの子から「来る？」と連絡がきたけれど行かなかったし、メッセージすら開きもしなかった。もう私尻尾振って会いに行かないと思った。仕事が終わって1.5hかけてあの子の家に行って始発電車で帰ってきてまた仕事に行くなんて生活もうしないんだなと思った。すこし前まではそれで良かった。好きでしていた。きついなと思うこともあった。だって疲れているし眠いし。でも会いたかったから会いに行っていた。もう違うんだ。私自分を大事にしたくなったよ。大事にしてくれないあの子のことなんてもういいんだと最近は思う。
びっくりしたかな。メッセージが返ってこないことにも家に来ないことにも。電話に出てくれないしもういいやって思ったんだ。もしかしたらもう一生会わないかもしれないけれどそれでもいいやと今は思うよ。勝手に幸せになってね。私の知らないところで。
