… myself —

Contain myself within myself

Repair all cracks

Seal all holes

Perfectly self-contained.

Ring the bells of my own heart

Let the sounds reverberate

against the walls, within the halls

Fill my soul with my own melody

Feed my life with my own joyful fire

Free and fierce,

Solid and strong I stand fully formed on my foundational rock

Steady, steady, steady,

Powerful and confident for the first time,

Contained, within myself

Day 1. February Series

[zencurious]

nonsensical —

I wait, sometimes I act

I beg, I cry, I pray

all within the same vibrational spectrum.

I stay still, I listen, and listen

Stiller still, and I listen, listen

I hear nothing.

I find ease, I relax one inch more

I find connection, I accept one ounce more

I give and I steal other people’s emotions

I sigh, I smile too much, laugh too often

I always pretend, I lie a lot

I flow, I bask, I dance.

I often travel to the past,

and discard numerous baggage on the way back to the present

I ride the waves till my legs go weak

I flow, I float, I sleep, and sometimes I fully wake

I move again in circles

nonsensical.

Day 30. January Series

medicines —

Happiness is shallow {on your skin},

depression runs deep {in your soul}

The nights are just too short

and the days much too long

Life is a painful slow inhale

Death a sharp shocking exhale

It is not sleep that I crave,

only the oblivion that it brings.

Attachment to suffering leaves you selfish,

needy

a beggar for crumbs, greedy for that pain.

This sadness leaves a bitter taste in my mouth

prayers of pity falling from the mother’s lips keep me unsympathetic.

Love does not heal, only strong Medicine does

Please pass another tonic

I’m seeking a different kind of relief

That I may be brave and change another pattern,

That I may be changed and chose yet another pattern

These different kinds of ills require different kinds of medicine

That I may be changed,

and always needing another type of medicine

Day 25. January Series

[zencurious]

mine, briefly —

I hold you in my hands,

half open half closed

to protect you a little from the elements

to give you space to be both held and free.

I feel your delicate wings flutter against my palms

they tickle sweetly…

The powdery substance from your wings

starts to leave a faint trace in my palm…

I open my hands fully

and I let you go.
