We are elemental. We are rising. I am so grateful for my ate, elder, teacher, fun ass friend, nurse, ancestral healer, psychic medium, witch, midwife, and Manghihilot Rachele. She saw me before I ever dared to see myself. She saw the difficulties and initiations ahead of me and took it upon herself to be one of my guides. Before we were colonized, massacred, raped, and worked to death, those of us with healing gifts were identified from a young age and guided in developing those gifts. We were given teachers, mentors, and elders to guide us on our journies. Many indigenous people still continue these practices. Most of my life I have felt a yearning, a deep feeling that I was meant for a spiritual path and a deep frustration that I did not have access to the teachers or the teachings that I needed. That is no longer my reality and I am grateful. With each passing day I am relieved of the suffering of doubt, shame, and hopelessness. These feelings are replaced with faith, power, and purpose. It is a continual road and I am glad to no longer be traveling alone, not just with Rachele, but with many of you who are reading this and many more of you to come. #wordsaremedicine #cursebreaker #hex #magic #2019spellbook #digitalbrujeria #healersofcolor #chronicillness #nonbinary #hexthepatriarchy #curanderismo #transgenderchef #transgender #healer #bruja #witch #brujx #decolonizeyourdiet #foodismedicine #mexican #filipino #mexipino #ancestralhealing #writersofcolor (at Suiattle River) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0w4uwBBgks_U7b8WqLf2B-_73YTPwaneu0CLM0/?igshid=ux3s5wuyx9i2
