10 TV Shows to Look Out For in 2020

Dracula This BBC and Netflix co-production holds a lot of promise. This Dracula retelling is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting Jan. 1st before eventually landing on Netflix. If it’s anything like other BBC retellings Merlin, Sherlock, and Robin Hood, you can expect to be hooked. However, as the trailer already tells you, this one is going to be a horror. Proceed with caution.

Katy Keene Following Josie and friends as they aspire to make it as artists, this Riverdale spinoff could set us up for the professional appearance of Josie and the Pussycats. Expect to see it on CW on February 6th.

High Fidelity  Starring Zoe Kravitz (Leta from Fantastic Beasts), this Hulu series based on a book by the same name promises a relatable music-obsessed store owner as she navigates life and is set to appear on Feb 14th.

Stargirl This DC original series can be watched on DC’s streaming service and CW starting in the spring. No one knows exactly what to expect from this titular character that inspired the formation of the Justice Society of America to take down villains set prior to our current DC favorites.

Falcon and Winter Soldier This Marvel/Disney+ 6-episode series is currently set to appear in the fall and will explore the life and partnership of the namesake characters in post-Endgame world and post-Captain America’s big decision.

Snowpiercer (Spring) Inspired by a novel and South Korean-Czech film of the same name, this tv show is being produced by TNT and slotted to air in the spring. In a post-apocalyptic frozen world, survivors have been gathered on a train that circles the globe. In this environment, survivors are faced with the question of where they fit in society and where they can find survivable conditions going forward.

Mythic Quest This Apple+ exclusive explores the comedic life of game developers as they manage a popular new release.

Lizzie McGuire (Summer) A continuation of the 2001 TV show of the same name, this Disney+ series sees the return of Lizzie and Gordo as they navigate adulthood. Considering the success of Girl Meets World and Raven’s Home, I’m really excited for this one.

Gossip Girl This reboot will feature a new generation of gossipers, with the same narrator, as they navigate the changing social world in New York after the previous group has graduated and moved on. It is set to appear on the new HBO streaming service along with Friends.

Party of 5 A reboot with a twist, we see the lives of 5 immigrant children upended when their parents are deported to Mexico.
