August went pretty well in regards to my prompts and getting them done. Some unfinished ones have been added to September and October. September is the third month I am devoting to Astrology this year, since it’s such a big fuckin subject, honestly. There’s the signs, of course, then houses, planets, the geometry in charts, etc.
During some of these prompts I am calling back to other subjects I’ve studied this year. September brings fall, starting with Mabon, it brings our harvest of the year. It’s definitely important for me to harvest some of my knowledge I sowed earlier in the year, test my understanding and continue to delve into those subjects. As well, some of these prompts are basic because I never bother to write down the basics, and you’d think that’d be the first shit I write down in a grimoire but nope!

This previous month I didn’t post any updates, and instead I started doing readings, so this is a bit late. June was the month devoted to my physical grimoire, admittedly, not much progress was made except gluing new parchment over stuff I don’t use/believe in/need any longer.
I didn’t do about half of my prompts so I’m gunna attempt to bumrush those tonight, tomorrow, and this week in general.
I did manage to redo the Colors section. It’s got a fold out page now- not much to show there except ykno.... it folds out. I use the color wheel and how colors mix a lot, which is why it’s front and center. IE, If I want to use both colors purple and red but only have a pink candle, the fact that it’s their ‘blend’ on the wheel thus means it can encapsulate both their correspondences.
On the note of ‘redoing’ pages, though, I get parchment (25c a page from my local metaphysical shop but because of good ol Rona I got this parchment off fucking amazon) and I cut it to about the size of the page. For nice clean Redos like above, I work on the page before using my HandyDandy Purple GlueStick (The DISAPPEARING PURPLE!) to glue it in. Usually there’s a bit of trimming required unless I purposefully make the new pages just a bit smaller than the actual pages. That’s really all there is to it.
For Fold Out Pages get a bit of a thicker parchment so that it doesn’t end up breaking down over time due to the folding in-out.
These are screenshots of my notion.so grimoire. It’s index is off to different pages, and you can color the links, add icons, I love it. I keep a brief journal just about my relationship to my Notion Grimoire, there’s really not much in there. However, I did go through most of the pages and make a list of what I need to add in.
Mostly... photos. Correspondences for the elements & wheel of the year, photos for symbols, I want to flesh out some magic areas.
My physical grimoire (post coming) is also under reconstruction. I’m a huge fan of fold out pages (seen before in this post) and my physical grimoire already has a few of those, but I’m greedy and want more. Certain sections are going to be completely erased- which means I’ll glue a sheet of parchment paper to them for a fresh page.
I’ve got a lot of change blowing into my life, it’s honestly scaring the shit out of me. The only option is to keep moving forward.
Everyone else remember this gem of a movie? It’s fucking beautiful, anyway, anyway, carrying on!
May went pretty well, rocky for the work and personal life, but for my task list, it went well! I’m hoping June will go even better, and June’s 30DoM is PHYSICAL GRIMOIRE! I’m pretty excited! I typically use a virtual grimoire on Notion and I’ll be showing that off as we get into this month, and I’ll also be showing the various different things I add into this small little leather book I’ve had since 2/2016.

I decided to try my hand at a 24 card tarot spread that I found a long time ago and saved to my photos. Very revealing, it took me two hours to read. The spread is from @unmaskingthedivine and you can find it here.
I didn’t get all my July prompts done, so I’m wrapping that up for now. While July focused on Shadow-work and the mental/psychological shadow, August’s 30DoM is Chakras, a switch to my internal energy flow.
How I see Chakras currently is a specific teaching of energy work; meanwhile, I’ve never really looked into energy work formally, I’ve just done what works for me. I’m not that great at meditating, there’s just a lot of small stuff that I find I falter on with my craft. I’m hoping that learning about Chakras will give me a better understanding of my own energy and especially, how to replenish it after a day of tarot reading.
*Just a reminder for everyone, this is my personal set of “monthlies” to get done that I create for myself and share, some of them this month are obviously personal to me. I share so that others following me can see how I am developing my craft this year, why I’m doing the things I’m doing, and just to kind of help with examples. Keep in mind I’ve got no clue what I’m doing with a lot of these subjects, and in a lot of ways I am a wee witchling/baby witch as well.

This is my current physical grimoire. I’ve had it since Feb2016 when I began my practice again, though mostly when my at-the-time Catholic husband was at work. I took it with me when I left him, I took it with me when I moved states to get away from him, and when I was in a small rural town I began filling it up again; diving headfirst into my craft. I added the three bookmarks you see now, though my gold one lost a few beads from 2017 and now, and there are several fold out pages. This book has seen me through so much that I’m always hesitant to get another physical grimoire. Instead, I glue in new parchment over old pages so that I can keep writing in it.
I finally made it back to my favorite grave at my favorite cemetery, with my favorite cemetery tree. It was two days after a huge rainstorm, everything was green and rather water logged, as far as soil goes. I left acorns at the grave of Sadie, my favorite grave- it’s hard to describe my relationship to Sadie. I collected soil (graveyard dirt) at the base of my favorite tree so it would have the energy of the shade, the living things, and the ‘dead’ things-- originally I intended to collect from Sadie’s grave but when I saw several rollie polie bugs (aka pill bugs) I didn’t want to disturb them, so I found a new spot that called to me.
The tree also gave me plenty of wee sticks and twigs to use in my cemetery dish, I’m planning on making a fence, if I can.
I collect and leave acorns as offerings because they symbolize rebirth to me, and its something the living creatures in the cemetery can benefit from, and also something a caretaker doesn’t have to clean up.
