August’s customs are very late but worth the wait! Meet Sunnie and Raine, a very colorful duo:)

I have been wanting to rehair dolls with rainbow hair ever since I saw the rainbow packs on Shimmerlock’s site. I couldn’t decide whether to get the traditional or the pastel but then was like, oh wait, I can do BOTH!

Sunnie was a Moondreamers Crystal Starr doll with badly faded hair; I had originally bought her to make MLP Danny but her head is out of scale so she ended back in the bait box until now. Shimmerlocks was out of the smaller hank set of rainbow hair so I ordered the trial sizes in the colors I wanted.

It gave me just enough to root three rows in the front and two rows in the back; as you can see that was the perfect amount , any more and her pony tail would have been too thick!

So pretty!! I made her dress that had matching pastel flowers and I found a pair of pale blue jelly Kelly doll shoes for her, perfect! I opted not to repaint her face except for painting over her star eyeshines to be round.

Raine was a MLP Big Brother bait I had bought ages ago and had come prepainted red and was bald. I had originally planned on making a G1 Big Macintosh but then decided not to and she languished in the bait box for several years.

I’m so glad I didn’t make Big Mac as I adore Raine! Raine sports white feathering and silver shoes (silver lining, get it?).

She also has a large blaze down her face. I had wanted to do a blaze, then was going to do freckles like the other Big Bros but then went back to the blaze. Her eyes are purple to go with the first stripe of her hair.

All in all I am so happy they came together so well! It feels nice customizing ponies again (I used to but haven’t made one in years) and I loved make a doll and animal set. The hair from Shimmerlocks is AMAZING and the colors are so rich, love it!!!

Under the wire with December's custom!

She has no name yet but came together quickly. I was trying to find another head to customize and found this Headless Headmistress head I had held on to as I like her face. I had a bunch of bodies out trying to match another head and found this one was a fairly good match for HHM.

She's a little wonky but it's not as noticeable irl. A swipe of shimmer to her eyeshadow and I painted her blue eyes purple and lips to this nice pink (it's called honeysuckle pink). I had just gotten this repro Barbie outfit that looks so good on her! I need to make her gloves as the ones that came with this (and all the other gloves I had) were too small in the wrists.

"Would you care for some tea?" Can't think of a name for her but I do know she runs a tea shop next to Francesca's bakery:)

Meet November’s custom, Brie! I was saving her to debut in December but this month got away from me so here she is!

Brie is a Gala Ghoulfriend Mouscedes (GG has a pearly sheen) and is the daughter of the Mouse King from the Nutcracker. I repainted her eyes to a rich brown but left the rest of her faceup as is. Her outfit was made by me using Requiemart’s ballet pattern. Mom had given me this cool sheer fabric with a gold design and I instantly knew it was for Brie! I originally tried doing the traditional tutu but I couldn’t get it to come out right so she has a separate tutu over a leotard. I actually found a use for the gold crochet trim I had been saving, there was just enough to do her sleeves!

I wanted to give her brown hair but I really hate re-rooting dolls so left her pink. Her hair is tied up with a matching gold ribbon:)

I added some sparkle to her top and gave her matching earrings. This small gold tiara was the perfect finishing touch!

I’m so happy with Brie, she went together so quickly and easily (even with the tutu fail). Hope you enjoy her as well!

Happy Halloween! October’s custom is the Pussycat Princess:)

There are several stories where a princess is turned into a cat but this one is based on the animated tale The Pussycat Princess from the Hungarian Folk Tales series (you can find it on Youtube). And no, she doesn’t have a name yet surprise, surprise.

In the story she is set some tasks, one involving putting together a pretty bouquet and another to weave a super nice handkerchief. Now was the prefect time to use the floral handkerchief I’ve been saving for just such an occasion! I love the cute little flowers and the ruffled edge. It took me a bit to figure out how to get the gathered look at the bodice (solution: a ribbon, who knew?) AND to get it to drape right but I finally did it!

I painted an extra MH ears headband (please ignore the paint job) and beaded a tiny crown which I attached to the headband. The crown tutorial is DIY Tiny Seed Bead Crown on youtube by The Corner of Craft. (tutorial starts about the 1:11 min mark) I’ve made a bunch, they’re very addicting!

 She had been repainted before with gold eye shadow and pearly pink lipstick and I painted her eyes with the color shift purple paint which look silver-ish in certain lights.  I found a tutorial for making fake bangs which was just sectioning out some hair when I did her twist and securing it under the headband, pretty nifty!

Made her some beaded bracelets to match her crown and added CAM cat shoes which are one of my favorite pairs of shoes. She was going to have cat paw boots but I decided they wouldn’t go with the dress very well:p

I waffled for a long time about giving her a tail as her dress makes it hard to attach one but I finally came to my senses and made her one. Unlike her boyfriend Kurt’s hers is fairly long but not as fluffy.

Nyah! She’s so sweet:)

Meet June’s custom Emerald aka Em!

Em is the daughter of Ozma of Oz and Dorothy Gale (you can’t tell me they didn’t get married; check out the original books and you’ll see what I mean,) Ozma had been turned into a boy for many years then turned back into a girl so her kid being a transgirl isn’t all that hard to imagine. Em’s head is a EAH Raven with the purple in her hair mostly removed and her widow’s peak filled in a little. I painted her upper eye shadow green and her eyes to a dark brown. I put her on an Isul body (Pullip’s little brother)as I had an extra; I wanted her to have that androgynous body type that was still poseable. Ozma signature look is a flowing white gown with a poppy headdress so for Em I made a 60′s inspired white lace tunic over green (of course) leggings and similar headdress, I didn’t make her a crown but did give her a royal medallion to wear (ignore the crappy paint job) and a cute green bracelet.

These Createable World sandals are PERFECT as in the original book Dorothy’s magic shoes were silver (plus rainbow!)

Meet April’s customs Bijou and Dart!

I’ve been meaning to customize hedgehogs to go with my Monster High Howleen OCs for YEARS now and since April got away from me this was the perfect time to do them as they were quick and easy.

Bijou was painted a shimmery blue to match her owner’s satin dress and has a teeny pink ribbon on her flopped ear. I painted her eyes pink to match her bow.

Dart got her orange streak repainted a dark purple which I *thought*  was the color of the stripe on her owner’s pants (it’s actually pink, whoops) and I repainted her eyes to a dark brown.

Customs with the originals! Simple but VERY satisfying:)

Meet March’s custom, Francesca! Francesca makes the best cakes in my dollyverse and her specialty is wedding cakes:)

The idea started out years ago when I found the wedding cake fabric remnant at Joann’s. This was originally planned as an Ever After High custom; I love the headbands/crowns they wear so bought a Barbie cake to use as a hat.

(ignore the wrinkles, my sister stole my iron) The print’s size and repeats made me scrap the EAH idea and go for Barbie. I was ecstatic when I discovered the blue ribbon and the silver spotted white fabric in my stash as it really conveys that elegant, princess-y feel I was going for.

I was planning to use a regular Barbie (as I have a bunch) but then I got this girl who I was planning to steal her body for another doll. Luckily for both of us she wasn’t a match!

She has a very sweet face:) Her top lip is over painted but it looks cute and I love her eyes and freckles! She has a few hair snipped short in front but luckily I can cover it. I painted the heart on the cake silver to tie in more with the dress, I left the figures as that’s too detailed for my shaky hands ^_^;;; The bottom of the cake is open and I just had to line the very bottom layer with a strip of foam and it sits on her head perfectly!

I really like how she came out:)

September’s custom: Meet Moonbeam:)

Back in the day we owned Bitsy and Blinky, the youngest characters from Hasbro’s Moondreamers line. They were lost at some point and when I started collecting My Little Ponies again back in 2001 they were also on my want list. In my Ebay searches I found a little blue haired girl that I did not remember from the show! Later I would find out that she was a UK variant called Oopsie, lol. She didn’t come up often and was pricey so I always planned on making my own:)

I swear the Oopsie I saw had curly hair (apparently she didn’t, it was straight) so when I found this glow in the dark curly hair it was perfect! Like Sunnie, she is only rooted a couple rows around; if I had done all the plugs she wouldn’t be able to stand lol! (She’s still top heavy as it is). So much hair...

 Her base is Bitsy who’s curly hair was mangled and had a bald spot. I liked the purple outline/lashes/pupil of her eyes so left that but did repaint the iris brown and painted over her eyebrows to match her hair. I wanted her to match the others so used a spare Blinky dress who’s crescent moon decal was damaged. I couldn’t remove the moon as it’s glued on so glued a piece of sparkly foam over it and used sparkly paint for the craters as I thought it looked too plain all white. She also has a pair of Kelly doll tights and shoes on and I found an iridescent white ribbon for her hair:)

I felt bad as I didn’t have an animal friend for her (like Bitsy and Blinky do) but then I remembered I had Ursa Minor! They look perfect together<3
